The Rhythmic Structure in Al Mutanabi Allamia
Abstract The research aims at studying the rhythmic structure of one of Al Mutanabi's longest poems that praises Saif
Al Dawla (Allamia). The researcher adopted the descriptive analytical method in order to study this
phenomenon and he used statistics when necessary.
The study focused on the partial components of the rhythmic structures in the poem which are the sound, the
alliteration, the repetition, the parallelism, the meter and the rhyme scheme. The study brought to light each
component then the research resulted in clarifying the connections that connect the partial components of the
rhythm in order to form the overall rhythm of the text and they are the pronouns and the sound movement that
became obvious in speed and slowdown in one side and highness and dropping in the other side.
