WELCOMETheatr Brycheiniog is launching two newinitiatives in 2012. From April, most professional shows at TheatrBrycheiniog will have a limited allocation of freetickets for customers under 26 years old. Theremay be any number of them, from just two to adozen tickets or more and they are available ona first come, first served basis, subject to a fairuse policy. Great news for the theatre’s youngaudiences. On Saturday 18 August, Theatr Brycheiniog’syouth festival is shaping up to be a very excitingnew event for Brecon. Featuring live music,dance and street theatre alongside arts andcrafts, there’s no need to book and nothing topay. For a taster, check out page 27. Whether you’re a regular or a potential first-timer, please take time to take in this brochure –we think there’s something for everyone atTheatr Brycheiniog over the next few months. Dorothy, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion will allfollow the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City and Oz. After thedefeat of the wicked witch, the friends are given more than theyoriginally requested but will Dorothy ever get back home to Kansas?

During the light hearted half hour rehearsal, some children arechosen and rehearsed into their parts while the rest of theaudience is taught the choruses of four songs. During the intervalthe actors and children are costumed and the show runsseamlessly with everyone taking part as rehearsed.
