THE BEAUTY AND THE GRIT DANCE PHOTOGRAPHY BY ROY CAMPBELL-MOORE

Roy Campbell-Moore presents a photography exhibitionbased on a Theatr Brycheiniog 2013 production of TheWorld Behind Walls by Jessie Brett and Addisu Demissie.

Taken throughout the theatre, the photographs reveal amulti-layered portrait of the gritty side of the performanceand the beauty of the dance being captured in still image.

Campbell-Moore will be Theatr Brycheiniog’s DancePhotographer in Residence for 2014 and this is his firstproject in association with the theatre.

Funded and supported by Arts Council of Wales andDancers Career Development.

SEEINGCHINA This exhibition explores the Royal Geographical Societywith IBG's historic collection of maps and photographs ofChina from 1850 onwards.

The legacies of several centuries of contact betweenBritain and China provide a backdrop for contemporaryissues such as global migration and identity, alongside anexamination of complex shared, and often unequalhistories, of these two countries.

BRECON WOMEN’SFESTIVAL ART SHOW 2014

Featuring the work of more than twenty women artists,mainly from the Brecon area, the exhibition includespainting, printmaking, stained glass art, sculpture and more,based around this year's chosen theme of 'Mother Earth'

ACIS ANDGALATEAMID WALES OPERAAcis and Galatea is a musical masterpiece from oneof the greatest composers of all time - GeorgeFrederic Handel, with words by poet John Gay – bestknown for The Beggar’s Opera.

The opera tells an enchanting story from ancientmythology: Acis is the son of the spirit Pan, Galatea anymph of the sea. They fall in love, only to bethwarted by the monstrous Cyclops – Polyphemus.

Mid Wales Opera and co-production partners theRoyal Welsh College of Music and Drama are joinedby members of Brecon Baroque ensemble for a veryspecial production of this beautiful and entrancingopera. They have a plethora of experience between them,brought together here in a virtuosic display ofmusicianship and testosterone. Faustus came together in 2006 as an evolution ofthe award winning band Dr Faustus. You will passWyeside on your right opposite the Llewellyn mural.Turn left and follow the one-way system along theHigh Street and West Street. Where lanes diverge,turn right along Church Street. Turn right again. TheGroe car park will be on your left, and Wyesidestraight ahead.

FROM SWANSEA AND THE SOUTH WESTEnter Builth Wells on the A483. At the roundabout,follow the A483 and the one-way system to the left,along Park Road, Church Street and The Strand.
