At Bhadarwah, the Jhanki ofLord Krishna was taken outfrom the famous Vasuki NagTemple Ghatha in a fully deco-rated chariot by the devotees.
The Jhanki started with tra-ditional Pooja Archana of LordKrishna by religious scholars inthe famous Temple.
Hundreds of devotees includ-ing prominent citizens andleaders of various political par-ties and social organisationsparticipated in the proces-sion(Jhanki) which was start-ed from Vasuki Nag TempleGhatha and passed throughUdrana, Radio Station, Kotli,New Bus Stand, Seri Bazaarand culminated at VidyaMandir School Jai RoadBhadarwah.
The Jhankis were also takenout from Shankhoja, Mathola,Bheja, Manthla, Haliyan,
Dalain, Thubba and Lagsarooareas of Bhadarwah to cele-brate auspicious day ofJanmashtami.
The people en-route show-ered flowers from the rooftopson the Jhankis and paid obei-sance to Lord Krishna to seekhis blessings.
The devotees en-route dancedon the beat of drums and recit-ed Bhajans and Kirtans inpraise of Lord Krishna.

According to a report, ahousewife got seriouslyinjured, when she suddenlyfell from her house's firstfloor balcony at old BusStand area of Bhadarwah.Reports said that familymembers immediately shift-ed her to Sub DistrictHospital Bhadarwah, wheredoctors declared her asbrought dead.
The deceased has been asShenaz Begum wife ofJaved Malik resident of OldBus Stand, Bhadarwah.Her body was handed overto family members for lastrites after completing legalformalities.

STATE TIME NEWS RAJOURI: CSR-IndianInstitute of IntegrativeMedicine, Jammu organ-ised an awareness pro-gramme on cultivation ofaromatic plants at GirlsHigher Secondary School,Darhal, Rajouri for twindistricts of Rajouri andPoonch for enhancement ofincome of rural margin-alised farmers.
Farmers were introducedto the cultivation of aro-matic plants aiming atimproving the socio-eco-nomic conditions of theState in general and farm-ing community in particu-lar by introducing thesehigh value cash crops tothe farmers and progres-sive growers.
Director, IIIM, JammuDr. Ram Vishwakarmainformed the audienceabout the aims and objec-tives of the programme andhighlighted the importanceof aromatic crops. He saidthat J and K State is ideal-ly suited for the cultivationof high value aromaticplants throughout the year.Cultivation of aromaticplants has assumed greatersignificance as it has notonly huge employmentpotential but surely hasgreater impact to increasethe income levels of thesociety as a whole. Heemphasised that cultiva-tion of these crops willopen up new opportunityfor the farmers and unem-ployed youths for produc-
tion of aromatic oils whichis natural base stock foraroma, perfumery, person-al care, home care, insecti-cide repellents, aromatherapy, food supplementsand nutraceuticals indus-try.

During the camp, theChief Guest MLA DodaShakti Raj Parihar hand-ed over seven motorisedtricycles to physicallychallenged persons whichwere provided by StateRehabilitation Council.
In his speech, MLA saidthat the motorised tricy-cles shall provide a hasslefree mobility to the physi-cally disabled persons. Hedesired that all the func-tionaries of Social WelfareDepartment and ICDSshould work sincerely andin coordination so that thebenefits provided undervarious welfare schemesreach the beneficiaries ina time bound manner.

POONCH: The Motor Vehicle Department on Wednesdayorganised a free medical camp for Drivers as part of Road Safetymeasures. The aim of organizing the medical camp was to checkeyesight, blood pressure and other health issues of the driversand provide them medical treatment & advise them for safetymeasure.
They were also sensitized about how health issues if not takencare of can prove dangerous for commuters and for pedestrians.A team of doctors conducted health check-up of more than hun-dred drivers including those of non-commercial vehicles. Theprogramme was organized by ARTO Poonch in collaborationwith Health department.
The department will hold more such camps in near futurewhere drivers will be informed about Health issues effecting safedriving. The transporters and drivers thanked transport depart-ment Poonch for organizing the free medical camp.
