District DevelopmentCommissioner ReasiRavinder Kumar, AdditionalDeputy Commissioner BabuRam, ACR Abdul Satar,SDMs, ACD and variousother officers were present inthe meeting.
Divisional Commissionertook a detailed review of theongoing development works inEducation, Health, R and Band allied sectors. He directedthe concerned departments towork in synergy and ensureadherence to quality normsand fix timelines. He stressedfor regular monitoring of theprojects besides ensuringresponsive administration forwelfare of general public.
He directed the concernedofficers to resolve all theissues of the PMGSY roadsincluding land acquisition so
that they get completed at anearliest without causing anyinordinate delay.
He directed the concernedofficers to redouble theirefforts for providing basicfacilities to the public. He saidpublic participation is vital forexpediting the developmentworks.
Meantime, DistrictDevelopment Commissionerapprised the Div Com aboutthe various initiatives takenfor speeding up the develop-ment process in the districtbesides providing promptservices to the people at theirdoor steps.
Div Com directed ChiefMedical Officer to ensure theproper functioning of BloodBank Reasi by making requi-site purchase of the equip-ments and other appliances so
that funds allocated would beutilized in time bound man-ner.
Food Safety Officers wereasked to ensure regular test-ing of the Mid Day Meal sothat quality food is served tothe beneficiaries in theschools.
Bhandari also directed theofficers of AgricultureDepartment to ensure effec-tive implementation of centralschemes meant for the farm-ers so that visible progress ismade on the ground. ACDwas asked to constitute spe-cial teams for expediting theongoing works.
Earlier, Div Com also visitedmany sections of the revenuedepartment and took stock ofthe facilities and servicesbeing made available to thegeneral public.

STATE TIMES NEWS THATHRI: Students of a GovernmentHigher Secondary School of Khara in DodaDistrict on Tuesday held a protest againstdistrict administration and blocked theDoda-Gandoh Road, alleging the districtadministration has failed to provide ade-quate infrastructure in the HSS.
The students of Government HigherSecondary School raised slogans against thedistrict administration and blocked the roadfor three hours. The students alleging thatthe administration has failed to provide abuilding to the GHSS said that HSS isworking in four hired rooms and demanded
immediate completion of HSS building.Amjeed Hussain said that due to the lack
of a building, students sit in an open sky. Hesaid the situation became unbearable in thewinters and on rainy days classes had to beabandoned.
They also warned that if their demands arenot fulfilled within week's time, then theywill start indefinite strike against the gov-ernment. "The administration identified theland few day ago but so far no progress hasbeen made to acquire the land". The stu-dents called off their protest after officialsfrom the district administration assuredthem of looking into their demands.

Dr Sharma said that theBJP-PDP Govt. and DyCM Dr Nirmal KumarSingh is totally workingagainst the interest ofBillawar and always sup-ports and favours his nativeplace Basholi in every mat-ter.
The people of Billawarfeel cheated and betrayedby the BJP and Dy CMNirmal Kumar Singh. He is
trying to shift some impor-tant offices from Billawarto Basholi to create strongbase for District, he said.
Dr Sharma said that BJPand Dy CM knowingly anddeliberately stopped theposting of Tehsildar atGurah Kalyal and LohiMalhar and NiabetTehsildars at Dher-Phinterand Sukrala-Mata Niabets.Dr Sharma asked the par-ticipants to prepare them-selves for struggle andmobilise others to make asuccessful movement formost justified cause of com-mon masses.

Scooty rider held with 40 pouches of liquor

According to a report, Miransahib Police led by Inspr.Ravinder Singh Rakwal SHO and ASI Yougal Kishore In-Charge Border Police Post Kullian laid a Naka at KhawasKhan near Dak Bungalow, Miransahib and intercepted onepedestrian. During his personal search, police recovered 4grams heroin like substance from his possession. DODA: A youth died and two others got seriously injured due toelectric shock triggered by some fault in transformer at villageBhargi of Tehsil Gandoh in district Doda on Tuesday.
Irked over the alleged irresponsible and pathetic attitude ofPower Development Department (PDD), people demanded sternaction against the officials for putting the life of humans at risk asone person died and two others got injured due to electric shocktriggered after a local transformer got some fault.
After hearing about the incident, police immediately rushed tothe spot and shifted all to Sub District Hospital Gandoh whereone of them succumbed to his injuries while other two are under-going treatment.
According to reports, police has also taken cognisance of the inci-dent and registered a case against the concerned department fortheir negligence. When contacted SDPO Gandoh Sunny Guptawhile confirming the incident said that, after receiving an infor-mation about the incident, we reached the spot and along withlocals shifted all to hospital for treatment.
"As of now, we have registered a case vide FIR No 50/2017under section 337,304-A against the department at Police StationGandoh and started investigation of the incident," SDPO added.
The deceased has been identified as Nazir Ahmad Son of AbdulAziz resident of Bhargi Bhallesa.
The injured have been identified as Mohd Imran Son of MohdShafi and his sister Jabina Banoo Daughter of Mohd Shafi resi-dent of Bhargi Bhalessa.

DODA: Two persons were killed when the vehicle they weretravelling in skidded off the road and fell into Kanderi Nallahin District Doda on Tuesday evening.
According to eyewitnesses, A Maruti Van (JKO2V-1227)was reportedly on its way from Gandoh to Jammu, on reach-ing at Kanderi Nallah, 15 km from Doda on Batote-Doda-Kishtwar National Highway ( NH1B), skidded off the roadand fell into the 150 feet deep Nallah AS driver lost controlover it.
DySP Headquarters Doda, Iftkhar Ahmed said that localsalong with police immediately reached the spot and evacuat-ed both from the badly damaged vehicle and shifted them toPublic Health Center (PHC) Assar where doctors declaredboth as brought dead.
