WE are TIPP! “TOGETHER” WE ARE EXTRAORDINARY

After an outstanding 30-year career with Tipp City Schools, Transportation Supervisor Janie Thompson is turning in her bus keys and taking her much-deserved retirement. Mrs. Thompson drove a bus, worked as a Nevin Coppock office aide, and served as a Board of Education secretary before becoming the district’s first transportation supervisor in 1995. She is a kindhearted staff member who always smiles, never misses an opportunity to say hello, and sees the positives even in the most stressful situations. She is admired and respected by those around her. She is a strong, confident, caring leader who genuinely appreciates and admires her 35 bus drivers and mechanic who she credits with safely transporting thousands of students during the course of her career. She is modest and rarely takes credit for the success of her department, preferring to put her staff in the spotlight for accolades. Mrs. Thompson, thank you for being an integral part of our tradition of excellence! You are one of a kind and will be missed! Her last day with Tipp City Schools is September 30th. When you see her next, be sure to thank Mrs. Thompson for her years of service and wish her well in retirement.

44th Annual Tippecanoe Marching Band Invitational

The Tippecanoe High School marching band hosted the 44th Annual Tippecanoe Marching Band Invitational at City Park this past Saturday. Sixteen marching bands with over 1,300 talented members took to the field for over 5 hours to present their spectacular competition shows. OMEA judges rated each band and the Tippecanoe Marching Band was one of just three bands to earn a ‘Superior’ rating and qualify to compete at the State Marching Band competition later this year. The band will compete next on October 12 at the Norwood Marching Band Invitational. Congratulations on your ‘Superior’ performance of “Currents” and thanks to all who came out to support the band on Saturday.
