CENTRAL COAST HIGHLIGHTS
Our first stop today is at the Australian Reptile Park arriving in time to watch funnel-web spider milking at Spider World. We spend the morning at the park allowing time to see Galapagos Tortoise feeding, Dingo Nature Walk and the Reptile Show. There is also Lorikeet feeding and we may get to see the Tasmanian Devil and Crocodile feeding before we leave. After some lunch, we make our way into the main township of Gosford, and follow the beautiful coast line north back to The Entrance. At 3.30pm each day of the week, The Pelican Feed takes place on The Entrance waterfront and is one of the Central Coast's most popular tourist attractions, entertaining and educating visitors and residents alike about the area's own pelican colony. It was all started over 30 years ago by staff at the local fish shop, who would feed scraps to the pelicans every day. Then in 1996, Council built the feeding platform known as Pelican Plaza. Afterwards we head back to our accommodation in time to relax before dinner.
Lunch at own expense and arrangement OVERNIGHT: Mantra Ettalong Beach, ETTALONG BEACH

DAY 3 Tuesday 9th June, 2020
RIVERBOAT POSTMAN CRUISE
This morning we cruise on the Hawkesbury Mail Boat, the famous Riverboat Postman, and enjoy the magnificent scenery of the lower Hawkesbury River. They will deliver the mail and other essentials (the odd bottle of whiskey or rum...) to the river access only settlements, upriver from Brooklyn. We arrive back at our motel mid afternoon with time to relax before dinner.
OVERNIGHT: Mantra Ettalong Beach, ETTALONG BEACH
ETTALONG BEACH TO PORT MACQUARIE
After two lovely relaxing days, we depart the Central Coast making our way through to Newcastle. A drive around the bayside suburbs takes us to the Newcastle Memorial Walk. This walk was built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the ANZAC landing at Gallipoli in 1915 and the commencement of steel making in Newcastle. It acts as a magnificent memorial to the men and women who served their community and their country. The structure cost $4.5m to build and is a 450 meter long cliff top walkway that links Newcastle’s Strzelecki Lookout to Bar Beach. After stretching our legs, we board the coach to make our way further north through to Forster-Tuncurry. This scenic drive takes us past the Myall Lakes National park, before stopping for a lunch stop. Forster is the jewel of the New South Wales coast and the beating heart of the great lakes. As we drive over the bridge will instantly see why people love coming back. The first oyster lease at Forster was granted in 1884. Forster is now famous for its oysters and is the largest provider of Sydney Rock Oysters in Australia. After a lunch break we continue out on to the main A1 Pacific Highway, bypassing Taree on the new highway, which is the largest road infrastructure project in Australia, connecting Newcastle to Queensland with a 4 lane highway. We turn off to Port Macquarie for our next 2 night stopover.
Lunch at own expense and arrangement OVERNIGHT: Waters Edge, PORT MACQUARIE
DAY 4 Wednesday 10th June, 2020

PORT MACQUARIE HIGHLIGHTS
This morning we visit the Koala Hospital to learn how this Wildlife Rehabilitation Facility carries out on-site procedures on koalas that are brought into their care. All procedures and treatments are done at the Koala Hospital except for major surgeries and X rays which are undertaken at the Port Macquarie Veterinary Hospital. There is a large window for easy viewing of the koalas being treated, and you can see neonatal care in the humidicrib. They can house up to 100 koalas. Our next adventure today is a two hour eco-friendly river cruise from Port Macquarie. Enjoy a slow and scenic river tour up the Hastings River and into Limeburners Creek. Meander amongst the oyster farms and enjoy the wildlife along the shore, in the sky, and in the water. You just may see a Dolphin or two. After the cruise, we enjoy a lovely lunch, then head out to the Sea Acres Rainforest Centre to view the Spirit of the Land exhibition showing eco-displays providing a wealth of information about local Aboriginal culture and the surrounding rainforest environment. There are also regular exhibitions of works by local artists, and a gift shop stocking a range of unique environmental products, gifts, crafts, educational toys and games. Later today, we head back to our accommodation for a rest before dinner.
OVERNIGHT: Waters Edge, PORT MACQUARIE
PORT MACQUARIE TO COFFS HARBOUR
After a leisurely breakfast, we head out to the main highway again making our way to Nambucca Heads. We stop for a walk along V Wall at the Nambucca River Entrance. This is an amazing outdoor gallery for graffiti artists. Everybody is welcome to “paint their rock” and leave their personal holiday messages and memories. From here we make our way to the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre. Walk out on the 70 metre Skywalk that soars over the edge of the escarpment, some 21m above the rainforest. It is easily accessible, and anyone can enjoy the bird’s eye view of the surrounding landscape. From here we continue on to Coffs Harbour for our next 2 night stopover.
OVERNIGHT: Opal Cove Resort, COFFS HARBOUR

Another opportunity to do the early morning bird walk before breakfast, then it’s time to pack our bags for the next stopover. After a great couple of days in the rainforest, we make our way to the beautiful township of Tamborine Mountain. Our first stop is at the Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk. Our walk departs from the Rainforest Eco Gallery along a spectacular elevated walkway through the beautiful middle and upper canopies of the rainforest. This stable, high-tech steel structure enables us to explore the canopies in a safe and secure way. It descends gradually to the lower canopy and follows points of interest including rock pools and waterfalls, a butterfly lookout, local history enclosure and sheltered rest areas along the way until reaching the amazing Cantilever. This is a 40 metre long span soaring 30 metres above the valley, with spectacular views over the creek and the rainforest canopies below. The walk returns along the rainforest floor to the Centre.
