On Twitter
Post content at different times of day or night (but not in a row)
Prime-time is a peak Twitter time
Weekends
Breaking news, big weather events, snow days –people go on Twitter.
Rephrase the way you post.
Experiment with hashtags
Study your analytics (browser – not app!)
Example: Big event coming up in a week. Post once a day about the event. Different times, say it differently, use pictures
Let your personality and interests come through!
Any hobby is a hashtag! Try searching #quilting #foodie #scrapbooking #photography #DogBreed #farming #Favorite TV Show #Eagles #Ravens #Phillies
Diverse tweets will reach a diverse audience
Avoid politics & religion if you are trying to get more customers
Yes you can say Merry Christmas and Happy Easter
Twitter is a micro-blog. Like all bloggers, having an identity is helpful

Handle placement
“@mwalfred thanks for the RT! We appreciate it!”
This would only be seen by you, mwalfred and any mutual followers you have
This is the default Reply position
But what if I was famous and you want EVERYONE to know we interacted?
“.@chriscoons Thank you for supporting our #coopext programs w/your visit today! #NetDE”
The period (.) in front removes the exclusivity, but keeps the address at front
“Thanks so much @ChrisCoons for visiting our #4H camp today! @4H #NetDE”
Senator will see it, so will everyone else. I wanted National 4-H to see it too so I added their handle at the end!
