shutdown since 2010, was refurbished and

restarted on 27th October. This has resulted in

increased production at FAP(T) and

guaranteed consumption of Captive Power.

The Furnace-2 can also be utilised for

producing special grade ferro alloys viz., Low

Carbon/ Medium Carbon Silico Manganese.

Installation of Prime Metal Screening System at

FAP(T)

Projects – Domestic Contd….. Installation of LPG LOT System at FAP (O)

FAP (O) has installed “LPG Liquid Off Take

(LPG LOT) system” at the Dryers, which are

used for drying wet chrome ore. This has

resulted in increased availability of dryers and

improved operational efficiency. At present

the LPG LOT system is operational at dryer-2

and will be extended to dryer-1 in due course.

The emission levels of SOX and NOX are

negligible in drying through combustion of

LPG, compared to, drying through

combustion of furnace oil.

New System

In order to encourage and recognize the

workers who are working in the critical hot

metal handling area of Gantry Bay of FAP(O),

a performance assessment system has been

initiated. Through this system the Crane

Operators, Forklift Operators and the Tappers

will be assessed on various defined metrics
