Educational Lecture and Workshop Luncheon on Ethical Leadership September 27, 2017Laurel Gaudio, as an AUSA Monmouth Chapter liaison, participated in an educational lecture and workshop luncheon on Ethical Leadership. The event was hosted by the Monmouth Regional Chamber of Commerce “Women in Business” at the Bella Vista Country Club, Marlboro Township, NJ.The lecture/workshop was given by Judy Young, Executive Director, Rutgers Institute for Ethical Leadership. Topics covered included; improving and enriching your organization through ethical leadership, personal and organizational values, the process to make ethical decisions, group exercises, and recognizing the power of reputation as an asset. These principals certainly are part of the AUSA environment, however great leaders, with the finest

ethical training, have sometimes reminded us we should never rest on our laurels when exercising this skill set. This was a valuable booster-shot to emphasize the fact that what we say and do effects not only ourselves but our organization, family, subordinates, co-workers, superiors, society and even history. We, in AUSA, must always be aware that the “United States Army” is in our title and it is not just our reputation we safe guard but, by extension, the Army itself and all who have served. The attendees were made aware of the AUSA mission and the various warfighter organizations and charities we support. Several pledged future participation in our efforts.
