“Timescale for deployment”

The timescale is dependent on size of vessel and whether it is intended to carry passengers:

• All new build vessels ≥ 150gt plus all new passenger vessels built on or after 1st July 2011

• All Cargo Vessels ≥ 3000gt by 1st July 2012 plus all existing passenger vessels

• All Cargo Vessels ≥ 500gt and <3000gt by 1st July 2013

• All Cargo Vessels ≥ 150gt and <500gt by 1st July 2014

“Net-Logic”

Net-Logic specialises in the design and development of devices that simplify the installation

process and enhance overall functionality of key marine systems. The company ethos is

based on creating simple building blocks which can be added together to produce more

complex systems. The emphasis is on innovative, well designed, well engineered products

which simplify the system design process and are quick and easy to install.

WatchKeeper is perfect for new build designs but really comes into its own within the

retrofit market. Why? The system makes use of a highly fault tolerant radio frequency mesh

network, controlling information flow in and around the bridge of the vessel. The result is an

approved Bridge Navigation Watch Alarm System that allows complete system installation

and operation within a matter of hours. No other system can offer this.

Our innovative “Range Finder” determines the ideal location for each individual unit simply

and rapidly.

“Who’s watching the Watch Keeper?”

Bridge Navigation Watch Alarm System or “BNWAS” have been a class requirement on one

man operated vessels (often referred to as “Watch One Bridges”) for a number of years now.

The importance of ensuring that the Watch Keeper on the bridge is both alert and competent

to carry out their duties is of top priority. This has been recognised by IMO who has now

made BNWAS mandatory for the majority of commercial sea going vessels.

Specification

• 3 selectable Modes:

o Automatic – Activates system when vessel’s heading or track control system is

operational

o Manual On – System is continually active

o Manual Off – System is not active under any circumstance

• Operational Sequence:

o The system displays on each reset module a visual countdown to action. This is

user defined, ranging from 3min to 12mins.

o At the end of the Time Delay (TD) all resets present a visual flashing indication warning

the watch officer that action is required.

o Bridge audible alarm is then activated along with the visual alarm to act as a final

prompt for action

o Second stage alarm is then activated in a user selectable zone (Master/ relief Officer)

and through the optional remote alarm module

o If no action is taken before the time delay has elapsed the system activates the third

stage alarm in additional crew member areas

System Configuration

Key Features

• Minimal cabling requirements results in reduced vessel disruption and downtime

• Significant overall cost saving over competitor systems

• Dual functionality means fewer units on bridge; less cabling / installation / commissioning

requirements

• Simple system set-up via full colour 3.2” LCD (TFT) Touch Screen Interface

• Emergency Call Function provided by holding Master Control Unit reset button for 5 seconds

• Additional inputs from the vessel’s navigational equipment, such as the radar/ECDIS/autopilot,

allows for automatic resetting of watch alarm timer

• Optional PIR motion sensors reset the system whenever human motion is detected on the bridge

• Quick  Response  (QR)  tags  are  fitted  to  allow  instant  access  to  documentation

• Repeater  modules  can  be  used  to  boost  signal  and  extend  the  range  up  to  a  maximum  of  150m

• Net-‐Logic  “range  finder”  is  used  to  determine  the  ideal  location  of  each  individual  unit,  allowing

rapid  and  simple  installation

• 24 month warranty

Basic Features

• The RF options result in a rapidly expandable system requiring minimal installation time and disruption

to the vessel

• 2.4GHz RF Mesh network acts to “self heal” in unlikely event of module failure to re-route the signal to

Alarm Interface Unit (AIU)

• All RF modules have a range of approximately 30m; Repeater module can be used to boost the signal,

and may be used in series up to 4 times, giving a maximum potential range of 150m

• AIU co-ordinates the network and repeaters used to transfer the signal around the vessel

• 110/240VAC powered modules

• Reset and PIR modules all located on the bridge/ wheelhouse for normal operation
