We recommend you print this document and keep with the email containing your shift times

Over a million guests and visitors will be travelling to Houston to absorb and enjoy the

festivities surrounding Super Bowl LI. Whether a hotel guest has a game ticket or not, Hotel

Volunteers will have the opportunity to host those traveling in for the week of Super Bowl. You

have been assigned to a specific hotel where you will be the ambassador for the Host

Committee to inform guests about all Houston has to offer and all the pre-game festivities! You

will meet your Captain at each shift and will be placed in the lobby of the respective hotel you

are assigned. So, get ready to give our guests a BIG Houston welcome!

PARKING

Park at your assigned hotel – your Volunteer Captain will validate your parking at the end of

your shift.

*Royal Sonesta does not offer parking; please park at Sheraton Suites (2400 West Loop

South) and walk 2 minutes up the road to the Royal Sonesta .

CHECK-IN

Report to the lobby of your assigned hotel. Please look for the designated table in the lobby,

with Host Committee branding. Your captain will be managing up to three hotels and will

rotate stopping at each hotel to check you in and support your experience.

UNIFORM

You must wear your official volunteer uniform during your shift with black or dark pants and

comfortable shoes. Note: Belongings must be kept to a minimum as storage is very limited.

At the beginning of each shift:

• Park at your assigned hotel (parking will be validated through your Captain)

*Royal Sonesta does not offer parking; please park at Sheraton Suites a short walk away

• Check-in to your assigned hotel lobby (a table and banner should be visible)

• Your Captain(s) will welcome you early during your shift. Please be patient as they

quickly move around their assigned hotels.

• Familiarize yourself with the information binder at the table, feel free to place

belongings under the table and keep things tidy that are visible

• REMEMBER: your Captain will brief you and get you situated with information such as

snack location, water location, meal information, etc.

• Good to know: location of restrooms, elevators, water stations, hotel concierge table,

hotel restaurant, etc.

• Please introduce yourself to the hotel front desk associates, we all are working together

and they are excited to have a Volunteer presence

* Please plan ahead for galleria traffic and check in 15 minutes prior to your shift start

time

At the end of each shift:

• Clean up your surrounding work area

• Assure all belongings are taken

• If you are on the morning shift please make sure your station has coverage before you

leave (Volunteers are present for two shifts: 8:00am-1:30pm and 1:00pm-6:00pm)

Note: you do not need to check-out physically with your Captain

Roles

• Be aware of Houston Super Bowl festivities – there will be a binder of knowledge at

each hotel. We recommend you downloading the Super Bowl LI app to have further

useful information at your finger-tips.

• Offer handouts and assistance with direction

• Share your excitement to be part of Super Bowl LI, and promote Houston with

recommendations to guests

• Be a friendly welcoming face.

Hospitality/Concierge Guidelines:

• You are a representative of the HSBHC and the hotel

• Treat everyone as you would wish to be treated yourself.

• Follow hotel rules, you are in their space

• Good to know the location of restrooms, front desk, elevators, etc.

• Please no gum, and do not spend excessive time using your cell phone for personal

reasons.
