Deep Water RunningDeep water running is jogging in water deep enough that your feet don’t touch the bottom. Deep water running is commonly recommended for rehabilitation. It is also used for fitness and is an accelerated training method used by athletes. The natural buoyancy of the water reduces the strain on your joints, bones and muscles by as much as 90 percent. Deep water running takes advantage of buoyancy while providing the same cardiovascular workout as if you were running on solid ground. Participants may choose to use a buoyancy belt; the aquabelt suspends you so that your whole body gets a total workout.
