Principals MessageI am so excited about the start of the

2012 2013 school year. We have somany things to look forward to this

year. We have a new look! The inside

walls and doors of the school were

    painted. The teachers have been

working very hard on their own time

before and after hours to get their

rooms to look like inviting and

exciting places to learn. We are also

anticipating a second computer lab to

be in place by 2013. All of the

students will be taking assessments onthe computer. The second lab will

allow us to have additional computer-

    based learning available.

As many of you know, we were an

A rated school once again and it is

our goal to continue to reach high

levels of achievement. Our theme this

year is, Wekiva 5.0 Catch the Wave

    of Achievement. Wekiva 5.0 means

we are ALL going to strive for the

highest potential during teacherinstruction, student learning and

parent involvement. We are going tostress our Guidelines to Success about

being a KOALA, which means Kind

    to Others, Organized, Always Honest,

    Learning First, and Achieving Goals.

Catch the Wave means we want

everyone to be energetic and powerful

at reaching the goals they set for

    themselves.

To help me achieve the school goals

this year is Mr. Hughes, AssistantPrincipal. He is energetic and

powerful! Together, we will lead the

Wekiva 5.0 team to keep the focus on

high achievement.I hope you will be able to make our

Curriculum Nights to learn about the

grade level standards and how parents

    can, Catch the Wave!

Keep reading to find out who else is

    catching the wave!

    Until next time,

    Ms. Adamczyk

Assistant Principal IntroductionI would like to express how excited I

am for the opportunity to become amember of this community. Wekiva

Elementary has a history of academic

excellence which is a testament to the

hard work of its teachers, staff,

    students, and community members. I

look forward to working with Ms.

Adamczyk to continue to provide the

    students of Wekiva Elementary with

    an exceptional educational experience.

While every school is different, I

have found that as long asadministrators, teachers, and

    community members are working

together with the best interests of the

    students in mind, amazing

achievements will take place. I am

excited to put my passion for

education to work here at Wekiva

    Elementary.

As the Assistant Principal, I will

seek to provide the type of leadership

that will foster a positive environmentfor both the staff and the students. A

positive educational environmentleads to academic success and student

learning gains. As a leader in this

    community, I accept the responsibility

of challenging our students to become

active learners each and every day.

    Through the vision of Ms.

Adamczyk, I am confident that we

    can, Catch the Wave of

    Achievement!
