Principals MessageTis the season for many, many

things and one of them is the flu.

Please do not send your child toschool with a fever. If your child is

absent, a note must come to school

sharing the reason for the absence.

Without written notice from the parent

or doctors note, the child has an

    unexcused absence. The number for

    unexcused absences and tardies are

up. Please try to scheduleappointments before and after school

whenever possible. Everyinstructional minute counts here at

    Wekiva.

Did you know?...From November 1st to Nov 30th

    19 total school days

An average of 30 students wereabsent daily. In addition, an average

of14 students arrived late eachday during November.

    November was a month to

    remember our Veterans, and once

again our Third Grade students did a

wonderful job at the Veterans Dayperformance. Songs from each of thearmed forces were remembered and

stars hung on the walls to honor those

who fight or fought for our freedom.

Great job to our students, teachers and

    Mrs. Kranz!

Our new computer lab is almost

ready! A few more touches and it will

be in use. Our fundraisers andcommunity support have allowed this

computer lab to become a reality. Mrs.Cook cant wait to share it with our

staff and students!December is also a time to give.

    Mrs. DeBonville has coordinated the

Koala Food Pantry here at Wekiva

with the help of other staff members

    and parents. Donations have been

wonderful. The families haveexpressed their gratitude to all those

involved. If your family is in need of

    assistance, please call Mrs.

    DeBonville at 407-746-1164.

The Thornbury family would like tothank everyone. Wekiva has helped

    this family through donations, bake

sales etc. Their little Arden (Koala) isgetting stronger every day after her

    heart transplant.

I am thankful for all of my students

who are working hard to reach their

goals and for their parents who make

sure they are practicing at home.

    Until next time,

    Ms. Adamczyk

    Have a wonderful Winter Holiday!

    Did You Know?

Pedestrians shall not walk in theroadway if sidewalks are provided.

This is one important law that students

and parents alike need to pay attention

to. It is so dangerous to be walking in

the street. Many motorists now a dayare distracted while driving. So make

sure to use the sidewalk to keep

yourself in the Safe Zone. Also, parents, please pay extra attention

when you are driving in and around

    school zones. Our School Crossing

Guards are watching out for our

students who are coming and going,

and we want to keep everyone safe.

    Also, Thanks to Wekiva Elementary

school for allowing us to bring ourCarls Safe Crossing Program to the

school. We had a fantastic time andthe kids learned a lot about street and

bicycle safety. This is such an

important topic to get out there to

educate the students on lifetime safety

    skills.

Art from the following students will

be on our Wall of Safety.
