Mindset and Reporting
Mr Papanicolaou- Assistant Headteacher
This presentation will be available on the school website tomorrow morning
How can students help themselves?
Mindset (Growth v Fixed)
Hard work
Commitment
Perseverance
Human ability can be grown
What’s your target grade?
Your target grade is an A*
Sam Edwards 11X1 2003
CAT score: 98
KS2 English: 4
French forecast grade: C
Recommendation: Set 3 out of 5
How can students help themselves?
Believe that hard work is
the way forward
Make plenty of notes
Review often – start now!
More frequent “testing” – particularly areas that
they find most challenging
Ask when they are stuck –
they are unlikely to be the only ones!
Don’t compare with others – focus on their own
journey
How can you help?
Check that they are reviewing their
learning often – not cramming
Ask them to explain the work they have done during the day
Avoid telling them what you found
difficult at school
Contact the school if there is anything that we can do to
help
We absolutely want to work in partnership with
you
Keep telling them to believe in themselves
