ROSTER
5Adrian College Men’s Soccer - adrianbulldogs.com
Head CoachChris LeFevre4th Season - [email protected] (2004)517-264-3990
Head coach Chris LeFevre enters his fourth season on the Bulldog sidelines. After spending several seasons in the SUNY (State University of New York) system both as a head and assistant coach, LeFevre brings the ability and knowledge to transform the soccer program at Adrian College.
“The goal for me is to put all the pieces together. The program needs to be brought to a level whereby it is inherent that the atmosphere/environment is conducive and reflective to a culture and tradition of winning and success. The best way to achieve this is to build a foundation fostered by players, who in addition to ability also possess the attributes that make them winners athletically, academically and socially. The group of players on this year’s roster has the ability to be that foundation. Essentially, with my help and the mentorship of my staff, the rest of the equation is up to them.”
LeFevre has over a decade of soccer collegiate coaching experience spanning over four different conferences as both a head and assistant coach.
LeFevre has already made strong advances in Adrian’s program. It took him only one season after his arrival in 2009 to put the team back on the winning track. After more than a quarter-century of below .500 seasons, LeFevre delivered the program’s first winning season since 1983. LeFevre’s prowess paid off in the standings as well, as the Bulldogs placed higher than they ever had previously in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) history.
In addition to the progress on the field, LeFevre’s team is also the 2012 recipient of the “Pathways to Excellence Award.” The award is given to the varsity team who has shown the greatest improvement in overall team grade point average from one academic year to the next. The grant associated with the award is bestowed to the college by Curt and Margaret Shaffer.
Winning is associated with LeFevre. He won two conference championships with a Final-Four appearance at the NCJAA level. At the NCAA Division I level, LeFevre had the opportunity to work closer with the players as an assistant in the America East Conference (AEC) and the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) for Binghamton University and Canisius College, respectively.
As a former collegiate player at Adelphi University, LeFevre earned his undergraduate degree there and received a graduate degree from Canisius; both in sport management. He has also received notoriety with the National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA) earning multiple certifications and diplomas. LeFevre and his wife Betsy reside in Tecumseh, Mich.; with their son Isaac.

Head TrainerChad Brinkman, ATC1st Season - [email protected] State-Mankato (2011)517-264-3990
Assistant CoachPaul Gilbert1st Season - [email protected] (2011)517-265-5161 Ext. 4026
Paul Gilbert enters his first season as an assistant coach with the men’s soccer team after having previously coached at the Darlington School Soccer Academy and competing at the Division I level as a goalkeeper for Liberty University.
“I’m excited about Paul joining our program and thrilled with the specialties he brings to the table,” said head soccer coach Chris LeFevre. “His character is crucial in continuing to build our program and his playing background will help with the development of our players.”
Gilbert’s recognition as Big South’s Freshman of the Year and selection to the All-Conference team helped propel Liberty to their first Big South Conference championship and their first NCAA Division I post-season tournament berth.
Gilbert’s name is peppered throughout the Liberty record book. His accomplishments are legendary. After twice leading the team in goals-against average in his freshman and senior years, he ranks fourth all-time in career shutouts (15), fifth all-time career in goals-against average (1.21), and eighth all-time career in saves with 140.
He also holds all-time top-10 individual season rankings for: goals-against average and shutouts. With the latter, he is only one of two goalkeepers listed twice, ranking one season as third with eight shutouts and another season as seventh with five shutouts.
Gilbert comes to Adrian after receiving a bachelor’s of science degree in sports management from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Gilbert has prior experience coaching at camps and clinics during his college years. Over the past four years, Gilbert has worked at the Chicago Eagles Sports Ministry Academy, and as a Personal Goalkeeper Trainer.

We are a campus of confidence, heart, and determination. We aren’t your average college experience ... we are distinctive. We are made up of achievers, believers, entrepreneurs, and leaders. We are more than simply a “small college,” we are the roots of change. We inspire, ignite, and grow here.
It’s getting your master’s degree in five years; it’s being a scholar, an athlete, and a humanitarian ... but more than just a number.
DO YOU HAVE THE “BULLDOG MENTALITY?”

ACADEMIC PROGRAMS
Our programs integrate theoretical and practical learning in distinctive and challenging ways.
It’s not about winning championships... but let’s face it, that is what we do here. We throw winning passes, hit home runs, score hat-tricks, and serve up wins in nearly every sport on campus. Maybe it’s because our athletes are strong — both in their sports and in their classes. The average GPA for our student athlete is above a 3.0, and with over 50% of our student body involved in some form of athletic activity, that says something. Actually, it says a lot.
It fuels champions.

We value a winning tradition on and off the court, the field, the ice or wherever our students spend their training time.
