The mens soccer program won the National Championship in 2006 and advanced to the National Championship game in 2008 Dowling has had six baseball student-athletes selected in the MLB First Year Player draft (Kip Roggendorf, 93, Toronto; Wilberto Ortiz, 06 Los Angeles (AL); Billy Mot-tram, 07, Chicago (NL); David Wendt, 09, Tampa Bay; Tyler Badamo, 14, New York (NL); Brendan Butler, 15, Oakland) The mens lacrosse team won the programs first National Championship in 2012. In 2012-13, Dowlings womens basketball team advanced to the National Champi-onship game after becoming the second team in ECC history to win the NCAA East Region Tournament.

Senior attackman Matty Beccaris became the programs all-time leading goal scorer on Apr. 30, surpassing LIU Post Athletic Hall of Famer Tom Postel, who had 144 goals from 1963-65. LIU Post earned a share of the ECC regular-season title, after posting a record of 7-1 in ECC play. The Pioneers currently have the second-best man-up unit in the country, boasting a conversion rate of 52.3 percent. Junior midfielder Anthony Galeotafiore ranks sixth in Division II in faceoff win-ning percentage (.689).

The Mavericks have been ranked in the USILA Division II Top 20 poll throughout the season, ranking as high as No. 11. Coming in to ECC Championship play, the Mavericks rank No. 13 in the USILA poll. Mercy has put together a successful season despite playing a tough schedule. The Mavericks have played six teams that are currently ranked in the USILA Top 20.

Jon Lynott, Shawn Murphy and Tom Hughes were all named 2016 Face-off Year-book Division II All-Americans at the start of the season, on the first, second and third teams, respectively. NYIT is fifth in NCAA Division II in scoring margin behind ECC foe LIU Post at 6.07. The team is also third in assists per game with 8.67, the only ECC team in the top five. Goalkeeper Alex Seltzer is third in all of Division II in save percentage at .595. The Bears rank first in the conference in assists per game, man-down defense, points per game, scoring offense and winning percentage ahead of the playoffs.
