Pre K- 2nd Grade – A fun way to use your crayons is by making scratch drawings. Add various colors to a piece of paper using crayons. Make sure you press down firmly when you color to add a waxy layer to the paper. Next, color with black crayon over the color crayons. Finally, you can use a paperclip to scratch a picture into the black crayon. The colorful crayon underneath will be revealed.

3rd grade - 5th grade – You can make an interesting collage using scissors, glue, and old magazines or newspapers. First, cut out pictures that you find interesting. You can even cut out words or letters. Next, arrange them on the page to make an interesting picture. When you get them in the right place, glue them down on the paper. Feel free to layer the pictures or even add paint or markers on top.

6th grade - 8th grade – Make a picture of your name using found objects. Arrange them on a table or the floor and take a picture of your final project.

Big Idea: How Plants Interact With the Earth’s Soil

Summary: Last week, we applied the knowledge we learned about solvents and mixtures by going back to FOSS and utilizing the Home School Connections. We started taking our investigations into our homes. This week, we are going back to some lessons we did in the beginning of the year in the School Garden. We are going to look at the systems of the Earth which involves how soil is structured and how plants interact with it.
