Hello everyone!
I hope everyone has fared okay in the windy weather!
Friday’s Mini-Muddies Challenge event for years 3-6 of
our 3MAPS Schools at Bago winery was a great
experience, and received positive comments from all
students involved. Congratulations to all of our
energetic students from 3MAPS. Hannam Vale came in
4th in the Primary Division, with Johns River 2nd and
Heron’s Creek 3rd! Six students had to link arms and
cross the finish line together in order to place.
Congratulations to all students involved. There will be
some students still getting the mud off – and parents
the washing machine may be getting the ultimate work
out!
A big thank you to the parents who helped us out …and
to Miss Craig and Mr Tomasone, who looked after our
teams! Well done 3MAPS – Here we are before the
challenge!
New website training Both Sue and Rhonda attended Wednesday’s new
School Website training day at Harrington where they
learned about the new schools website which will be
coming into vogue over the next few weeks.

for guitar and drum lessons last week, but they will be
commencing tomorrow.
Parents and carers of participating students are
reminded to make $15.00 per child per lesson
payment to the school office on either a weekly basis
or as a lump sum for the term

We have received the draw for the MZPSSA Soccer Gala
Day on Wednesday, and Hannam Vale’s first game
commences at 10am. Therefore, students will be
required to arrive at Wingham Sporting Complex by
9.30am to allow time for stretching and warm up. If
you are travelling with a volunteer transporter, please
arrive at school by 8.30am so that all vehicles can
depart by 8.45am.
Students who haven’t returned their permission notes
and $5.00 PSSA levy are asked to ensure that these are
in tomorrow. Participating students will be allocated
school soccer socks and shin pads (if required)
tomorrow and are to wear full sports uniform on
Wednesday. Included with this newsletter is further

3MAPS Athletics Carnival We’re hoping Mother Nature will be kind this Friday
and provide us with a beautiful, sunny day for the
3MAPS Athletics Carnival. Students are reminded to
bring along old clothes (and shoes if they like – maybe
the ones with the mud off [a little joke]) - to change
into for the Colour Run in the afternoon.

Rhonda will be attending a full day session run by Mark
Sueli and Tony Smith the Auditors who will now be
auditing all things LMBR. Obviously, with a new finance
system comes new expectations! Best we know what
they are! This training will take place on 19th June. This
puts Mr. Gough and me in charge of the students on
that day!
Connecting to Country Training for
3MAPS staff Ms Dennis and Mrs Nicholson will be involved in
Connecting to Country Training which will take place at
Biripi Local Aboriginal Land Council, Port Macquarie on
18, 19 and 20 June.
8 Ways Training This training will shape our teaching and future
programming. The ideas researched and presented are
very sound and are at the core of all learning - not only
Aboriginal student learning.
And here’s what each of the symbols means (in a
nutshell…)

Information Technology –
Connecting Country Schools Project The Connecting Country Schools (CCS) project was allocated funding in the 2017/18 NSW Budget. The idea is to upgrade wireless connectivity in over 900 regional and remote NSW schools. By modernising wireless technology and infrastructure, the NSW Department of Education is building for the future of education in NSW. HVPS is on the list for immediate upgrade. An information sheet outlining the benefits of the project for students, teachers, schools and school communities is attached. This exciting information was sent to us by Stephen Loquet, Chief Information Officer, Connecting Country Schools project. Work will begin this week…. Pam Everingham, Teaching Principal
