APICS OKC Scholarship Recipients Announced at OSU
The School of Industrial Engineering & Management
awarded their first APICS OKC Scholarship since form-
ing the student chapter earlier this year. Receiving the
scholarship were Swaraj Meher (not pictured), Kartik
Josyla (above left photo), and Kunal Bhosale (above
right photo). Pictured with the recipients are Dr. Tieming
Liu, faculty advisor for the OSU student chapter, and Dr
Sunderesh Heragu, Head of the School of Industrial En-
gineering & Management.
The recipients were chosen not only for their scholastic
ability, but also for their enthusiastic participation in all
activities of the student chapter since its inception. Each
of them also serves on the board of directors for the
coming school year. These three gentlemen were also the first-place team at our student case study competition held in April
at the UCO Business College. All three are also working on their APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management
(CPIM) while working on graduate degrees.
Our chapter provides annual scholarship funds to the three Oklahoma Universities with active APICS student chapters.
UCO announced their recipient in April. OU typically announces their selections in the Fall, so watch for those announce-
ments later this year.
Our Newest CPIM We are very pleased to announce
that Sudhir Goel of Terex complet-
ed all requirements for award of
the APICS Certified in Production
and Inventory Management
(CPIM) credential in July.
Sudhir is a Terex Corporate em-
ployee, and works as a Senior
Systems Architect. He has worked
internationally (U.K.) and in multi-
ple locations in the United States.
He will be in Oklahoma City for
approximately one more year be-
fore being reassigned, possibly
back to his corporate office in Dal-
las.

UCO Student Selected for APICS Scholars Educa-
tion Program
To develop future supply chain leaders, APICS offers a select group of graduate and under-
graduate student members free admittance to the annual APICS International Confer-
ence through the Scholars Education Program. At the event, students explore careers in
supply chain management by attending educational sessions, meeting professionals in their
field, attending networking events and participating in a career fair.
We are proud to announce that Tracy Hope, President of the University of Central Oklaho-
ma Student Chapter, was selected as one of only 53 APICS Scholars from among hun-
dreds of applicants.
Aside from the opportunity to experience the conference and network with supply chain
professionals, scholars receive the following benefits:
• Complimentary conference registration (San Antonio for 2017)
• Hotel accommodations
• $200 travel stipend
• A professional APICS member as a mentor
• Networking events
• Conference-geared student programs like the Think Tank, Poster Session, & Volunteer Leadership Workshop student tracks
Tracy is also actively pursuing her CPIM, as well as interning at Maxcess International in Edmond. Please join us in congratulating
Tracy for her accomplishments, and if you’re at the conference in San Antonio, be looking for her at the student poster display area
near the Expo Hall.
Taylor Valve Technology Hosts Basics of Supply
Chain Management Class
Employees from Taylor Valve Technology (TVT) re-
cently completed the APICS Basics of Supply Chain
Management (BSCM) course. Senior leaders at TVT
chose to hold a private class for their employees so
they could learn APICS best practices while discuss-
ing in class how to apply these practices to their sup-
ply chain processes.
Pictured above are (L to R): Jerico Morgan, Bonnie
Sharon, Philip Maxwell, Steve Bowers, Eddie Loomis,
and Jennifer Jensen.
Please join us in congratulating these students for
their accomplishment.
How can my company host a private class, you may ask?
Just give our VP of Education an idea of when you'd like to host a class of your own, and we’ll work out a mutually agreeable sched-
ule. Please send an email with your request to [email protected].
