BETHEL WEEKLY NEWS
CHILDREN ARE WELCOMED
AT BETHEL!
Parents will find bags of soft toys
for children at the entrance to
the worship areas. Thank you
for doing what you can to help
in creating a worship environ-
ment where all can participate
by keeping distracting noise and
movement to a minimum. If you
prefer, a nursery is available
Sunday mornings at Bethel
Highlands (9:30 am).
FLOWERS Flowers Downtown are placed in honor of the 80th birthday of our mother and grandmother, Vonnie Hill. Given by Kim Kapaun, Kyle & Kelsey McNamee. Flowers at Highlands are given in loving memory of Carol Belisle, by her husband Don and family.
BAPTIZED Receiving the Sacrament of Holy Baptism at the 9:30 Sunday service are twins, Bennett Blake Dahlberg and Brooklyn Lee Dahlberg, children of Sarah Bieringer & Daniel Dahlberg.
WELCOME TO BETHEL ON THIS CELEBRATION WEEKEND
Today we’re celebrating our successful capital campaign and raising $1.7 million towards reducing our debt and freeing dollars up to be used for mission and ministry, rather than paying interest. A great big THANK YOU to each of you for your generosity and faithfulness to this great congregation! Please stick around after
the service to share some cake and punch with us.
We would also like to thank our campaign committee for all their time and talents. Kudos to: Chris & Kelle Anderson, Bob Wall, Chuck Boeder, Dennis Duerst, Natalie Haefner, Jon Jorgenson, Jerry Adams, Paul Gavic, Darrel Schoeberlein, Rick & Krista Ottino, Dave Miller, Kim Kaupan, Paul & Ann Martinson, Faye Luepke, Tim Wiste, Rand Sortland, Pay Powers, Todd Gillingham, Brian Ullom, Bonnie Knutson, Linda James, Lonna Possehl, Nancy Langness, Tasha Gunderson, Juli Hilding, Ralph Van Kuelen, and Pastor John Lestock. We couldn’t have done it without you, friends!
BLESSING OF THE PETS THIS WEEK AT WOW! You and your pets are invited to come to the Highlands campus on Wednesday, August 13 at 6:30 pm for our special Blessing of the Pets service (weather permitting.) Please make sure your pets are on a leash or in a cage. Next week at WOW: the Blessing of the Backpacks service.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL THANKS A huge THANK YOU to the 95 volunteers plus Bethel staff and pastors, for your amazing help making this year’s VBS a super success! You are a blessing to these kids and to us! And THANK YOU to the record number of kids (244) who attended Weird Animals VBS. Your smiles, laugher & growing love of Jesus filled our week with joy! Just Announced: Next year’s VBS theme is “Everest—Conquering Challenges with God’s Mighty Power.”

WELCOME WORSHIP
GUEST!
Bethel believes that God is at
work in our life together to trans-
form and renew the world by
making followers of Jesus. You
are welcome to be a part of this
community of those who cele-
brate the forgiveness and hope
that are God’s gifts to imperfect
people through Jesus Christ, to
grow in your faith, and to join in
serving human need in his name.
The people and pastors of Bethel
look forward to sharing your life-
journey in any way that is helpful
to you. If you are a visitor to this
beautiful area, we hope your
visit was refreshing; your travels
are safe, and your homecoming
joyful. If you’d like more infor-
mation about Bethel, please stop
by our welcome center or speak
to a pastor.
BETHEL’S VISION FOR MISSION
To WELCOME all people to know
Jesus Christ and come to faith in
him. To provide the means for
growth for Christian maturity,
EQUIPPING people with the power
of faith in Christ for everyday life.
To challenge each member to take
a personal share of God’s mis-
sion, SENDING them to bring
Christ’s compassion, hope and
joy into the world, our communi-
ties and homes.
