Camera Module installation instructions. Nav and Voice activation optional. Installation manual. PNP module.

Please follow the steps below for the proper module installation

STEP 1

Please take all required actions to access the back of your CIC head unit. This may require you to remove some plastic parts of your dashboard, unscrew appropriate screws and remove CIC head unit from its factory installation position.

STEP 2

2. Please locate the main power connector harness at the back of the CIC head unit shown on the picture on the left.

Note that the colors of the wires connected to the harness may vary from one vehicle to another.

3. Disconnect the connector from the CIC head unit and take a short look at it. You will need a flat screwdriver in order to remove the optical connector from the main power connector harness and re-plug it into the Camera module’s connector. Please look at the picture on the left.

STEP 4

4. Gently pull the plastic lock on the connector using the screwdriver and pull up the two optical cables as shown on the pictures below.

5. Next, re-plug this optical connector into the same position on the Camera module’s connector as shown on the picture on the left.

STEP 6

6. Please connect the Main power connector harness into the opposite end of the Camera module’s connector as shown on the picture on the left.

STEP 7

7. Connect the harness from the Camera module to the back of the CIC instead of the Main power

connector harness.

STEP 8

8. Connect you CIC Head unit back.

STEP 9

9. Remove the rear door (trunk) opener handle and install the camera instead. Camera assembly has its own handle for the door (trunk). Please note that the slight modification of the camera casing may be required in order to fit your sensor. You will have to remove the sensor from your original trunk handle and install it to the camera trunk handle. In case if your sensor not fit please cut both plastic pins which present on the camera assembly. Refer to the attached pictures for better understanding.

STEP 10

10. Pass the cable from the back of the CIC (from PNP module) to the rear door (trunk cover) and

connect camera to the other end of the cable.

STEP 11

11. Connect two wires at the camera side to the Reverse (Back up) light. Blue wire should be connected to the positive (+) wire or contact of the backup light and the Black wire should be connected to the negative (-) wire or contact of the backup light.

STEP 12

12. Your CIC head unit now requires additional coding to activate the camera. For this coding you may use our special utility which can be downloaded here:

http://www.bimmerretrofit.com/downloads/Rear_Camera_Activation_Utility.zip This utility will require you to have some additional software installed on your PC and also to have K- DCAN cable available.
