Contribution Statements

Most importantly, whatever the issue, however misunderstood I feel, the dis-

ciple always makes the first move, takes the first step toward reconcilia-tion. Jesus goes further. No solemn

prayer can replace such radical, interpersonal peace-making; even liturgy’s sanctifying power is nullified

without reconciliation. Interrupt the liturgy, leave sacred gifts unoffered at the altar whenever you recall that any-one has anything against you. Note carefully the extraor-dinary challenge: not if we remember something we’ve actually done, but, remarkably, if you “recall that your

[brother/sister] has anything against you” (Matthew 5:23); that is, even if the alleged offense exists only in the

other person’s mind.

Question of the Week Is there a situation in my life calling for a reconciliation that will not happen unless I make the first move? How

soon will I do so?

Welcome February!

Please note CCD Class session schedule for the month of

February:

Class sessions will be held on February 5th., 12th. and 26th. -

there will be NO CCD classes on Sunday, February 19th.

Please remember, class sessions begin at 9:45am and end

at 10:50am.

Parents, there have been increased reports in tardiness to class

sessions. Tardiness interrupts the sessions and may cause

delay in end of class sessions. Please have children report to

class sessions in a timely manner. For your child’s safety, do

not drop off students behind O'Brien Hall.

Parents are urged to remind children of the need to

demonstrate proper conduct within all class sessions. Parents

will need to attend class sessions with their children if

misconduct is reported. We will begin having students stay in

the classroom until parents report to the class or CCD

Office for pick up when the student misbehaves. We

appreciate your help and support with this concern.

Congratulations are in order for two of our Catechists!

Mary Carmichael, our Seventh Grade Catechist and Mirette

Pichardo, our Third Grade Catechist have recently completed

The 2017 Archbishop's Appeal Campaign has begun. The theme for this year is

Disciples, Sent by the Spirit. The Archdiocese Archbishop's Appeal goal is $4,500,000. Our

parish Appeal goal is $25,332. Families should have already received a letter from Archbish-

op Gustavo requesting your participation in the 2017 Archbishop's

Appeal. Your gift to the Appeal will provide housing and basic necessities for the

homeless, education and spiritual formation for seminarians and deacons, and

evangelization and education initiatives for youth, young adults, and families in our Archdio-

cese. Your generous gift to the Appeal can be made by filling out the pledge card sent to your

home or at your parish. Once completed, place your Appeal pledge card in the offertory during Mass. Gifts can also be made

online at www.archsa.org/archbishops-appeal or over the phone with the Appeal Office at 210-734-1604. Thank you for your gen-

erosity.

734-1604. Gracias por su generosidad.

Our new office hours are 8:30am-6:00pm. We are closed

12pm-1pm for lunch.

The Spring Semester of TMIY is well

underway. We welcome back the familiar faces along with the new faces. That Man is You!

has lit a fire in the men that have attended the TMIY sessions. We must allow this fire to

"strengthen our love for God" so that we truly

become "A Man after God's own Heart." Jesus Christ personally invited you to be here with

TMIY. We are very excited that you said, "Yes." And we thank you. Every person is called to be holy within

their state in life. For most men this will entail becoming holy as a

husband and father. Not surprisingly, many men miss the call of God because they do not recognize his voice. Ultimately, this is a challenge

of the spiritual life- listen to God. "This says the Lord, he who created

you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: 'Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine" (Isaiah

43:1). As usual, we ask that you bring your appetite and a friend. "As Iron Sharpens Iron, So one Man Sharpens Another." Proverbs 27:17

Greetings,

My name is Carrie Andrews and I am the coun-

seling intern from the Catholic Charities Counsel-

ing Center who is currently assigned to St Je-

rome. I am looking to start a Self-Care/Support

group for both adults and children. The topics I

will be covering range from dance, art, and music

therapy, to self-care such as cooking, time man-

agement, and relaxation techniques. If interested

please let the office here know. I would like to start these

groups by mid-February so please let the office know by the

end of January. I look forward to seeing you in these groups :)

Thank You
