103 students have already enrolled for next year, and we have several new families wanting in. If you already know that you are not returning, please let the office know that we can fill your spot with a new family.

If you refer a family with a student in 1st – 5th grades, and they remain enrolled through the first semester, in January of 2017 you will receive a $200 credit towards your tuition account! Tell your referred family to be sure and list your name as the referring family on the enrollment sheet. Three families earned a $200 credit this school year just by referring friends!

AUCTION DATE CHANGE: THE AUCTION WILL BE HELD ON APRIL 30 DUE TO A CONFLICT WITH PROM GYM RESTROOM REMODEL - We are beginning the fundraising process to remodel the School gym

restrooms. We would like to convert the two small restrooms on the South into one large girl’s restroom and the other two on the North to Boys only. If you need a statement on payments to the school so that you can finish your taxes, you can print it yourself from FastDirect, or contact the office and we’ll print one for you.

PRINCIPAL - Mr. Birnbaum: No Joke this week - We remember this week leading up to Easter, the pain and suffering that our Lord Jesus endured on earth for OUR SINS. We will have Chapel on this Maundy Thursday (instead of Wednesday) to remember the night of the LAST SUPPER that He had with His apostles before being led off to be crucified on a cross. But we look forward to next week when we celebrate His resurrection from the dead on that first Easter Sunday, the day that the Son rose.

First Lutheran Spring Olympics was a memorable event. We were greatly impressed in how well the 8th grade led their chapel families and each team of students produced quality work and performances in a WIDE array of events and activities. Fourth place for the girls division was a tie and went to Somalia and Peru with KaSandra Lyons and Ryley Beard as captains respectively. Third place was Landrie Payne's Bora Bora. Second went to Lyric

8TH GRADE GIRLS! Po-Hi Drill Team tryouts are at 4:00 pm on March 30th. Mrs. Goll: What a great break! It’s good to be back in school. Fourth quarter will go very quickly so hold on

Mrs. Harbeson: Welcome back, everyone! I hope you all had a great Spring Break and are ready to finish the school year strong. This last quarter of the year always goes by quickly, so be prepared! In language this week, all classes have jumped back in to vocabulary and grammar. All classes have also started their new novels for this quarter. With all the "busyness" of our day-to-day lives, please take time to reflect on the sacrifice that Jesus made for you and for me. I invite you all to attend church this Sunday as we celebrate the risen Savior! If you don't already have a church home, you are always welcome to worship here at First Lutheran. Blessings on the rest of your week!

Page 5: Chatter 3 23 16

- 5 - Growing up Into Jesus, Reaching Out with Jesus, Walking Together in Jesus

Mrs. Hanson: I pray everyone enjoyed their Spring Break. We are back in the saddle again, if only for 4 days. We will be finishing presentations in 7th and 8th grade. Since all projects have not been graded/presented, this will be one of the first grades for this quarter.

7th and 8th graders will have a binder check this week. The musical will be here before you know it! We will begin practicing as a chorus this week. We are very

limited to in-school practice time, so I would love to meet every Wednesday after school from 3:30-4:30. This practice is just for speaking parts and solos.

6th and 7th graders have started a new learning module called "choice boards" ask your student what these are and how they will be learning.

Mr. Covert: Spring Break is over and the fourth quarter is underway! I hope that everyone had a chance to get a bit of a recharge over the break so we can hit this last quarter running.

In 8th grade, we’re starting a look at the Progressive Era of the early 1900s, and seeing the reforms that they pushed that we still have today. 7th grade is studying East Asia’s geography and history, and the impact they’ve made in the world. 6th grade is back in Europe, as we’ve started a unit on the Middle Ages in Europe.

7th grade parents, we’ll be having our first logistical meeting for the Washington DC trip on Wednesday, April 5, at 6:00 PM, in my classroom. We’ll go over the cost of the trip, the flight plans, a sample itinerary, and the information I’ll need to get us into the federal buildings.

I pray that God continues to bless us this week, as we find ourselves about to see the empty tomb and the work of salvation that was accomplished by our Lord Jesus Christ!
