Class IV- ENGLISH: Children wrote about their future
goals and the steps they are taking to pursue it. They got a
chance to hone their reading skills by reading about A.P.J.
Abdul Kalam a d also o e of Charles Di ke s fa ous o el- Oli er T ist .
Class IV- HINDI: They saw the movie – A dul Kalam
and spoke briefly about him during their assessment
period. They also quoted the inspirational words of
Abdul Kalam.
Class IV-MATHS: This homework
helped the children to realize the efforts
needed to develop an SSLV satellite. It
helped them understand the various
facts related to the launch of a satellite.
Here we are with the newsletter for the month of July 2017, the
month of presentation of the Holiday’s Homework of all the subjects.
CLASS IV: SCIENCE- (1) Students put in a lot of effort and creativity to make various kinds of soaps.
The added a ariet of i gredie ts like ora ge peels, fuller s earth, tea lea es, i t, lotus petals, perfu es etc. to make unique soaps.
(2) They also made models of Sun
Dials. This was a fruitful mix of
research work and its
implementation.
Class IV- SOCIAL SCIENCE: This holiday
homework helped the children to understand
launching parts of a satellite. They also learnt
about Sriharikota, Orissa. They also spotted
their locations on the maps.
Class V- Students of class 5 did their holiday
homework on S i tillati g Spa e - where they
researched on various aspects of space , scientists,
etc.
Class V- In ENGLISH, students made comic strips
& a story on space travel. They learnt about various
astronauts.
Class V- Science: The students found out about
various planets, satellites, life on those planets etc.
Students also made models of the same.

Q. What did I like about my holiday home work?
• I liked all the topics but the most interesting one was of
English because we had to read a novel- Oliver Twist. I like reading novels.
We also had to write poems on our role models. I chose to write on Enid
Blyton as I like reading books. We also had to write about our future goals. I
wrote that I want to become an IAS Officer. I also liked the model making
home work of Science.

some question-answers on it. We had to write a poem on one of our
role models. I love writing about my future goals too.

ENGLISH: For class IV the focus was on the
development of speaking skills. They played
roles in various situations using their toy
phones. They not only learnt to greet their
friends informally but also invite them for
playing games.
MATHS – The TAMING THE TABLES activity in class IV helped the students
to develop the art of mental
calculations.

Maths Inter House Quiz was conducted in the A.V room for classes IV and V. The quiz
consisted of seven rounds based on patterns, graphs, fractions, word problems and picture
rounds.
Class V- Social Science Activity: To introduce the
concept of general elections, an activity was
conducted in the class where some students stood
for elections and prepared a speech. The rest of the
class voted for their deserving candidate and got an
ink mark on their finger too. Later, the votes were
counted and the victor was made the SSt o itor .
JUNIOR INVESTITURE CEREMONY was
celebrated on 15th of July. The young Marshals
and Coordinators of the six Houses were ready
to take on the responsibility and discharge the
duties entrusted upon them by the school.
HOLIDAY HOMEWORK
CLASS-VI
The students wholeheartedly participated in presenting their holiday homework in the form of Power Point Presentations,
Models and projects. This helped in enhancing the confidence of the students on presentation skills, critical
thinking skills, cooperative learning skills and artistic skills. The volume of work done by the students was
commendable.

Global Tiger Day Program
To commemorate Global Tiger Day on 29th July 2017, East Point School participated in poster making competition organized by Modern school, Barakhamba. The competition was based on the theme of tiger conservation in order to enhance the stude ts i terest i the su je t.

It was a proud moment for me to
represent my school in the

A Week Of Fun With Math :
The Math Week pro ed to e a fantastic opportunity for the children to
engage in Math activities, which they

experience in a regular class.
Over the course of a week, the whole
school participated in different Math
activities designed to challenge their

Tree Plantation
Tree plantation was held on 28 of July . The students
of class VII and VIII actively participated in the
programme, students and teachers planted various
types of plants in the school premises .
Visit To National Science Center

of July , where they did
hands on experiments
based on the topics of
NCERT book. Along with
the galleries there they
watched 3D shows
describing about the

World Population Day Observed
To create awareness about serious population
issues and their influence on environment a
power point presentation was shown to classes
VI to XII. The class teachers and selected student
council members discussed the importance of
human resources and conservation of other
natural resources with the students.
Workshop by DSLDA
Delhi State Legal Service Authority organized a
workshop for the students. It was conducted by
Advocate Umesh Gupta to create awareness
about the legal aspects involved in cutting trees.

spot painting competition organized by Jansankhya
Sthirta Kosh at Nehru Planetarium. The competition
was organized on the occasion of World Population Day.
The Green Brigade continues to lead East
Poi t i sa i g e iro e t….. • The students of Green Brigade planted trees in a tree
plantation event organized in collaboration with
Maharaja Agrasen College, Delhi. The chief guests
present on this occasion included Mr. Rajiv (MCD
Councillor) and Dr. Sabata (Senior Scientist Environment
Department).
• On another occasion, the students of Eco Club
enthusiastically participated in tree plantation activity.
This event took place in Smriti Van and the guest of
Ho our as Ho le Judge Mr. Hari Shankar.
