FEBRUARY 2015
Love is patient; love is kind. Love does not envy; is not boastful; is not conceited; does not act improperly; is not selfish; is not provoked; does not keep a record of
wrongs; finds no joy in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
I Corinthians 3:4-7
For God loved the world in
this way: He gave His One
and Only Son, so that
everyone who believes in
Him will not perish but
have eternal life.
John 3:16
No one has greater love
than this, that someone
would lay down his life
for his friends.
John 15:13

The Finish Line Take Time to Remember
We have just wrapped up a month-long Sunday morning series from Deuteronomy and I hope you got as much from it as I did. By taking time to remember what God has done, what Got commands and what God requires, we are better able to receive the baton that has been passed from the past to the present. The current Taylor Road family will, at some point, pass the baton of leadership to the next generation of leaders.
The message from Moses to his people and from the Holy Spirit to us is remarkably simple – Love God with your whole heart and keep His commandments. That is all there is to it. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Now, how will we, the current family called Taylor Road Baptist Church, respond? Will we love God with all of our heart and keep His commandments? What about you? You can’t really control what someone else does or doesn’t do but you can control your response. The future of your church hangs in the balance and how we respond to this challenge will lay the foundation for our future.
You will hear a lot about love during the month of February as we approach Valentine’s Day. Consider what the Bible says about the subject… For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son… Greater love hath no man than this…that a man lay down His life for His friends But God commended His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us Love your neighbor as yourself Love the Lord your God with all your heart…and follow His commands
It is crunch time. We have a past that is lled with blessings. We have a present lled with challenges. We have a future lled with hope. Take some time to remember and reect but also realize that our future starts now. You are carrying the baton. The race is on. There is much to be done. Your church needs you now.
Blessings,Bro. Bobby

Student Ministry UpdatesIt’s interesting to look at the reasons a young adult graduates from high school and never darkens the door of a church again. Oftentimes we chalk it up to attrition, the grasp of the world, or lack of true faith. We’ve always accepted in student ministry that there will be a certain amount of loss; but as a soldier in the faith it is unacceptable to me to leave any man or woman behind without a ght. It has become increasingly clear that the dierence between the ones who continue to be faithful and the ones who don’t is relationships. Active involvement and understanding of our relationship with our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit and the relationship with the church and community are missing from the lives of the “unfaithful”. It became all about following rules and checking boxes. This year we are putting special emphasis in the area of relationships over rules and have kicked it o with our current Bible study, Jesus > Religion.
We need you, Taylor Road, to help this year in pouring into the lives of these students. DNow is fast approaching (20-22 February). It is a weekend that will spiritually grow our students in their understanding of Christ. We need, more than anything during that weekend, prayer warriors with a heart for students and Sunday School classes willing to prepare meals. One additional need is that of mentors. If you are willing to take a student or two under your wing and be a mentor/prayer pal/helper you would be greatly appreciated. Don’t let our students leave the church without knowing we did everything we could in Christ’s name to set them up for success. If you want to help in any way, please contact me at 702-445-3538 or [email protected] Bryant

We each have dierent gifts and abilities - 1 Corinthians 7:7 We “make a joyful noise” Psalm 98:4 We “serve the Lord with gladness” Psalm 100:2
If you would like to be part of the ministry which has “joy in the doing,” please join us this Sunday at 4:00 p.m. to check us out. Upstairs across from the choir suite. No Commitments—just cookies!
