WESTON FARMS - WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 - Your first stop will be Green Dirt Farm, a small sheep dairy located just outside of Weston on the picturesque bluffs above the Mis-souri River. This working farm produces farmstead sheep's milk cheeses, yogurt and 100% grass-fed lamb. Green Dirt Farm holds to the tradition of community-based farms where customers can know how their food was produced, and who produced it. After your tour you will have a chance to taste the cheese produced here. Later you will stop at the Farmer’s House and hear about this working farm where children, youth and young adults with developmental disabilities work, play and learn as much as possi-ble about existing farms and ranch communities. You will have time to shop at the Farmer’s House Market, selling locally grown and produced “farm to table” products such as vegetables, fruit, honey, cheese and farm and home related items. Volunteer Opportunities

Cancer Action Workshop - This group meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month from 9:00 - noon at the Gladstone Community Center. Their main goal is to make bed pads for cancer patients. There are many jobs to do and they don’t all involve sewing. They are in need of people to tear sheets at this time. Call 423-4086 for more information.

There is a $5.00 Book Club fee per month to cover refreshments and room fees.

AUGUST Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Stout

This Pulitzer Prize winning novel is a portrait of Olive and a number of recurring characters in the coastal town of Crosby Main. Olive is a retired math teacher who deplores the changes in her small town as well as the world in general.
