Does the school have a strong reputation in your field?

• Ask your professors for their opinions

• Check academic conferences, review speaker lists and do background research

• Linkedin is a great resource for professional information

Are there benefits from earning degrees from different institutions?

• Each school has a different academic environment and vision

• A varied background will give you a broader perspective, a larger professional network and will look impressive on your resume or cv

How do I find potential supervisors?

• Review both graduate and faculty websites for information on staff

• Read journal submissions of potential supervisors for a better understanding of their background, research and style
