Island of Lopud belongs to the Southern Adriatic island group and is located some 9 NM northwest of Dubrovnik’ s harbour Gruž. To the east of Lopud there is the island of Koločep and to the west, the island of Šipan. On the western side of the Island of Lopud there is an inhabited place of the same name. Surface area of the island is 4,63 square kms. The highest island’s point is the top Polačica at 216 m above sea level. The length of the island is 4.5 km and the total length of its coastline is 13.2 km.
