CVB to Attend TradeshowsJanuary is a busy month for the Manhattan Convention and Visitors Bureau. Marcia Rozell,Tourism Sales Manager, will hit the road, attending three tradeshows in three weeks.Tradeshows are utilized to sell our community to people who may have not considered itas a destination before their tradeshow impression. Much work goes into preparing forthese shows, since it is a limitedtime to show the big thingsoffered in The Little Apple®.

Shows for 2015 include theAmerican Bus Association in St Louis focusing on bus touroperators, the Travel andAdventure Show in Chicago with leisure travels and the KC Boat and Sportshow with outdoor enthusiasts.

Here come theBridesThe Manhattan Bridal Show is Sunday, Jan. 18th fromnoon to 4:00 p.m. Sample all the area vendors andservices for wedding planning, whether you’re justbeginning to plan, or need one final detail to fall intoplace. Luke’s position as the Convention Sales Manager requiresmany job responsibilities. As Convention Sales Manager, heis responsible for selling the Manhattan community as ameeting destination. We ended the year with our monthly MRC Luncheon atManhattan Country Club featuring guest speaker LTC (RET)Art DeGroat, Executive Director of Military and Veteran’sAffairs at K-State. For the second month in a row our atten-dance topped 100 guests with a few from as far as Topeka andMcConnel Air force Base in Wichita. We are growing by leapsand bounds and have you, our loyal MRC members, to thank.

The MRC partnered up with K-State Military Affairs to cosponsora K-State Basketball outing for newcomers to Fort Riley. Howexciting to see our MRC Logo up on the big screen atBramlage Coliseum!
