●Capture
Capture magazine has been informing and inspiring emerging and
professional photographers for almost 60 years. Established in 1963
as Industrial & Commercial Photography, Capture is the go-to title for
anyone running, or planning to run, a photographic business. In fact,
there’s nothing else quite like it in Australia. The brand is also a magnet
for those seeking inspiration, confirmed by a 2019 reader survey
revealing that 96% use Capture to inspire them creatively.
We engage with a strong and loyal following not only though the printed edition of the
magazine, but also through our social media channels, website, specialised live events, and
the Southern Hemisphere’s largest and most respected competition for aspiring pros and
early career photographers, Australasia’s Top Emerging Photographers, now in its 12th year.
Regardless of whether you’re new to the industry, or have been shooting professionally
for decades, at Capture our mission is to always bring you the most interesting, insightful,
and engaging content.
We’re looking forward to tailoring a package to help you most effectively engage with our
passionate and loyal audience.

●Respected by professionals
Capture is the media brand for professional and emerging-professional photographers
in Australia. You don’t have to take our word for it. Here’s what leading professional
photographers Sean Izzard and William Long had to say about Capture:
I have been working as a photographer for 30 years, and to have my image selected for
the cover of Capture’s Annual edition is definitely a recent highlight. That speaks volumes
for the esteem the magazine is held in throughout the industry. It really is the pre-eminent
photography publication in the country.
Sean Izzard, seanizzard.com
The quality of Australian professional photography has substantially benefited from
Capture’s commitment to the professional photographic community. They regularly
encourage emerging photographers in Australia with their annual competition, Australasia’s
Top Emerging Photographers, with such enthusiasm and generosity that they virtually
own the term “Emerging Photographers”. I was honored to be invited to support and judge
this competition since its inception, and every year since. Capture clearly cares about the
photographic community.

As well as engaging readers in print, online, and through social media, Capture and Australian
Photography host boutique live events, often along with commercial partners. Some of
our events include FOTO L!VE (a full-day photography event in Sydney featuring eight
leading pro photographers) and a three-city instameet series, providing a relaxed, social,
and fun atmosphere for like-minded photographers to learn, share, be inspired, and get
their hands on the latest gear. A sold-out Wedding Workshop program recently hosted
by Capture saw photographers join pro photographer Ashley K to photograph a model
bride and groom against the backdrop of three remarkable historic venues – Elizabeth Bay
House (Sydney), Villa Alba Museum (Melbourne), and Old Government House (Brisbane).
