Life science and health

Medical Malmo of Sweden (Det Medicinska Malmö) participates actively, actively, engaging in new initiatives for projects and contexts that contribute to positive growth in the areas of life science and health in MalmöLund.

Prioritized commitments include major events (congresses, exhibitions), establishments of corporations and specific growth-promoting activities (e.g., venture capital issues).

Medical Malmo will serve as a catalyst by actively promoting increased collaboration among various key players in the region.

Since 2011, Medical Malmo is an active common forum for its four principals: Region Skåne, Lund University, Malmö University and City of Malmö. Region Skåne, Lund University, Malmö University and the City of Malmö.

BACKGROUND and PURPOSE

Highly goal-oriented activity levelWith clearly established goals, Medical Malmo will support, advocate for and, where applicable, pursue new initiatives within the various prio-ritized core areas. The focus will be on “tomorrow’s health and medical care”, emphasizing the profile areas that play a strong role for the region now and in the future. Specifically, Medical Malmo will promote growth by driving and participating in life science and health-related events and theme meetings.

Operational plan and profile areasThe strategy, focus and engagements of Medical Malmo are regulated by a strategic plan that is based on analysis and the identified needs within the area. In addition to the traditional medical disciplines, examples of highligh-ted profile areas include: • sports medicine/health • healthy aging • advanced homebased care/chronic diseases and • oral health/odontology.In addition to industry, university and government (the “triple helix”), growth also requires capital. It is therefore in the interest of Medical Malmo to promote and work for a favorable venture capital situation, for example by bringing players together for constructive dialogs in theme meetings (“quadruple helix”).

Partnership and collaborationMedical Malmo endeavors to create interfaces with all relevant players within the prioritized areas of the operation. The established goals will be achieved in collaboration with other people, businesses and organizations. Similarly, Medical Malmo is a positive partner, assisting other players in life science/health in their efforts to achieve their goals.
