TRANSCRIPT

Oracle FMW MapViewer 11g Sample Data set based on Naturalearthdata.com This dump file is created with the data pump expdp command, from a 11g Oracle database. To import this dump file, you need to use the data pump utility. Step 1. Log into the target database as DBA, then create a DIRECTORY object that points to the folder where this dump file is located. For example: SQL> create directory dumpdir as '/tmp/map-data'; Step 2. Create a new schema to import the data. SQL> grant connect, resource, create view to mvdemo2 identified by mvdem o2; Step 3. Grant access to the DIRECTORY to the new user: SQL> grant read, write on DIRECTORY dumpdir to mvdemo2; Step 4. From command line, run the following impdp command: impdp mvdemo2/mvdemo2 remap_schema=nedata:mvdemo2 directory=dumpdir dumpfile=mvd emo_naturalearth.dmp full=y expdp mvdemo2/mvdemo2 schemas=mvdemo2 directory=dumpdir dumpfile=MVDEMO.dmp logf ile=expdpMVDEMO.log impdp mvdemo2/mvdemo2 remap_schema=mvdemo2 directory=dumpdir dumpfile=MVDEMO.dmp full=y You may see some error messages regarding grants and roles. They can be ignored. Step 5. After the import is complete, log into user mvdemo2, then run these SQL statements: SQL> SQL> SQL> SQL> SQL> insert into insert into insert into insert into commit; user_sdo_styles select * from styles; user_sdo_themes select * from themes; user_sdo_maps select * from basemaps; user_sdo_cached_maps select * from tilelayers; You can now create a data source named 'mvdemo' that points to the new user mvdemo2, and run all the built-in MapViewer demos and samples.
