TANZ eLearning development• eLearning began with collaborative development of

Graduate Certificate in eLearning (QF L7) – delivery by MIT

• National Certificate in First Line Management (QF L4)• Developed & delivered to 120 Meat Inspector

Supervisors at 90 Meat processing plants for ASURE Meat inspection service

• Small dedicated team designed, developed & delivered NCFLM

• Used rapid prototyping approach to development• Action research used to revise & improve as we went

The TANZ eLearning development model• Content structure and learning design revised several

times based on user feedback• NCFLM subsequently developed for Public Service ITO then

for generic delivery by each TANZ institution• Roll out to TANZ & other institutions supported with

training , admin documentation & online help• Followed by development of National Diploma in Business• Developed a system for centrally managing upgrades,

continuous content improvements and supporting institutional capability

TANZ Network Support• All content subject to change (e.g. assessments), updating (e.g.

New Unit Standard versions) or improvements (e.g. worksheets) are managed from central website and each institution’s LMS links to these materials

• NCFLM Tutors participate in COP online forum to suggest and agree on course content improvements, share online facilitation strategies and support capability development

• COP process provides a means of continuous moderation• TANZ eLearning unit handles all upgrading and web

developments on behalf of TANZ members• Also develops resources such as Set Up Documentation,

Worksheets, Assessment Marking guides, Exemplars, FAQs, Tips, Tricks & Techniques, on-going real time support

own Moodle instance via encrypted network3. Non-TANZ access to TANZ developed courses either

through own Moodle instance or direct access
