    Mission Statement:

    The mission of Nova Southeastern University, a private, not-for-profit institution, is to offer a diversearray of innovative academic programs that complement on -campus educational opportunities andresources with accessible, distance-learning programs to foster academic excellence, intellectualinquiry, leadership, research, and commitment to community through engagement of students andfaculty members in a dynamic, lifelong learning environment.

    Message from the Presidents Office:

    Nova Southeastern University (NSU) is the eighth largest private not-for-profit university in the nationwith more than 28,000 students and 145,000 alumni in all 50 states and countries around the world.

    NSU is a fully accredited, coeducational, Carnegie-classified high research activity university, well

    known for innovation and quality in both traditional and distance education.

    President & CEO George L. Hanbury II, Ph.D., oversees the direction and management of the univer-sity. He strives to foster academic excellence, intellectual inquiry, leadership, research, and commit-ment to community through the engagement of students and faculty members in a dynamic, life -longlearning environment to produce alumni who serve with integrity in their lives, fields of study andresulting careers.

    The president is fostering this environment by laying out the universitys new mission and vision state-ment, and focusing students, faculty and employees on eight core values to guide the university into2020 and beyond. President Hanbury aims to elevate the universitys standing to one of national prom-

    inence in academics and research.

    NSU awards associates, bachelors, masters, specialist, doctoral, and first-professional degrees in awide range of fields at its main campus in Davie, Florida, as well as at locations throughout Florida,across the nation, and in several countries around the world.

    Student Leadership and Civic Engagement: provides NSU students with leadership programs andvolunteer activities. The office also houses NSUs premier leadership program Razors Edge, adynamic and intense leadership development opportunity for high performing student leaders.

    Residential Life and Housing: provides students with five on-campus residence halls that consist oftraditional rooms with private bath facilities for undergraduate students as well as apartment housingfor upper-class undergraduate students.

    Campus Recreation: provides intramural sports, group fitness, personal training, fitness assessment,

    and operates the RecPlex with more than 100,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor recreation andfitness space including strength and cardiovascular equipment, two indoor basketball courts, threeracquetball courts, a rock-climbing wall, a heated outdoor swimming pool, three multipurpose rooms,and mens and womens locker rooms, showers, and saunas.

    Sports Programs: NSUs intercollegiate athletic program is in its ninth year of active NCAA Division IImembership and seventh year of membership in the Sunshine State Conference.

    Diversity Information: NSU is an Hispanic-serving institution, which awards more post-graduate andfirst professional degrees to Hispanic students than any other university in the nation. NSU is alsoranked third in the number of masters degrees awarded to Hispanics.

    Additionally, NSU ranks second in the number of doctoral degrees to African -Americans than anyother university in the nation a distinction the university has been proud of for many years. NSUalso ranks in the top ten in the number of masters degrees awarded to African-Americans.

    Financial aid provides assistance through federal, state, institutional, and private programs to studentswho require funding to meet the cost of attending college.     Campus Visit:

    Undergraduate Student Tours: Undergraduate students and their families can visit campus Mondaythrough Saturday from 10:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m. Campus visits will consist of meeting with an admis-sions counselor to answer any questions you may have and a campus tour given by one ofNSU'sStudent Ambassadors. Prepare to be on campus for about two hours to see everything! To
