Job 1:6-226 One day the angels came to present themselves beforethe LORD, and Satan also came with them. 7 The LORDsaid to Satan, "Where have you come from?"Satan answered the LORD, "From roaming through theearth and going back and forth in it."8 Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered myservant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he isblameless and upright, a man who fears God and shunsevil."9 "Does Job fear God for nothing?" Satan replied.10 "Have you not put a hedge around him and his house-

hold and everything he has? You have blessed the workof his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spreadthroughout the land. 11 But stretch out your hand and strikeeverything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face."12 The LORD said to Satan, "Very well, then, everything he has is in your hands, buton the man himself do not lay a finger."

you!"18 While he was still speaking, yet another messenger came and said, "Your sonsand daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother's house, 19 whensuddenly a mighty wind swept in from the desert and struck the four corners of thehouse. It collapsed on them and they are dead, and I am the only one who has es-caped to tell you!"20 At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to theground in worship 21 and said:"Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart.The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD bepraised." 22 In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.

pray that the Lord will richly bless his labors and grant him safety.) We are blessedto have Pastor Don Schultz as our guest speaker. Pastor Schultz teaches Religionand coaches football at Lakeside Lutheran High School. He has served the Lord for5 years at Lakeside. He is originally from Milwaukee, WI. His wife is Jennifer andthey are blessed with 3 children. Pastor Scharrer is in Saginaw, Michigan, attend-ing a family reunion and his 40 th high school class reunion at Michigan LutheranSeminary. He wishes you Gods richest blessings and looks forward to praising theLord with you next week.

RULES FOR THE SLIDEWe have the slide for a wonderful entryway to Jesus Kids, the ark through whichchildren can learn of Jesus and be saved. Children will be able to go down the slideonce a Sunday as they make their way to Sunday School or our Jr. Bible Study.There will be helpers at the top and bottom of the slide. Little ones who are afraidto go down the slide will be escorted down the stairs.

JESUS CARES BIBLE STUDY Today in the Conference Room @ 9:15 a.m.Our Sunday morning Jesus Cares Bible Study for the developmentally disabled will

be meeting in the Conference Room in the Church Office.Whatever you have done for one of the least of these, Jesussays, you have done it unto me. (Matthew 25:40).

JESUS CARES MINISTRYOur Jesus Cares Ministry meets every third Tuesday from

6:30 7:30 p.m. If you can come and give a hand, do so. Seehow your Christian love comes in handy as we get to know these special people andone on one help with a craft and/or just being a friend. HELP OUR 7th & 8th GRADERS TOUR LUTHER PREP?Since we are blessed with 51 very gifted 7th and 8th graders in our school, not count-

ing the gifted students we have in public school, wed like all of them to experienceLuther Preparatory School with the hope and prayer that some might consider theministry as their lifes work and that all might know the school God uses to preparestudents for ministry. Could you help with transportation (Thurs. Oct. 7, 4 p.m. and/

or Frit. Oct. 8, 9:30 a.m.)? Could you serve as a chaperone (Two men and two la-dies are needed)? If you can help, tell Pastor Scharrer at 723-1623. Thanks!

NOT EVERYTHING IS FINISHED IN CHILDRENS CENTERIt has been our desire to have everything finished in

the Childrens Center by last Sunday, September19th. While tremendous progress has been made to-ward this goal, there are still several items to beadded to the Center.

Some hands-on interactive activities for the Chil-dren to participate in so they may learn about the

Flood. Life-like murals of Noahs Ark and the Flood. A dividing wall to partition the largest room into

two smaller rooms in the southeast corner of the lower level. A display of educational materials for children to learn about the reality of the

Flood of Noahits message of law and gospelGods judgment on sin andGods deliverance for all who trust in him. These materials will also demonstratein a fascinating way the historical accuracy of the Scriptures.

A desk with a computer by the registration counter. A whiteboard on the wall in the large gathering area in the middle of the Chil-

drens Center. This will allow video presentations and interactive learning.

We talked about waiting until these above items were installed, but felt that the Je-

sus Kids ministry and the Before & After School care program needed to use thisspace a.s.a.p.

PUBLIC SCHOOL CONFIRMATION CLASSES - WelcomeTUESDAY OR WEDNESDAY @ 3:30-5 p.m.

Youth in grades 6-8, yes, even in high school, are invited to visit ConfirmationClasses either on Tuesdays 3:30-5 p.m. in our Fellowship Hall or on Wednesdays,3:30-5 p.m., in the lower level of our school. If parents or youth have any questions,please call Pastor Scharrer. If your were unable to meet with your pastors earlier,please call so that we may discuss this important Bible Study with you and your child(ren). What a privilege it is to study Gods Word and learn all we can from Godsgreat Love Letter, the Bible.

the Childrens Ministry Area Dedication in his prayers forover 3 hours as he ran the marathon, Sept. 19. He thanksGod for your prayers. The Lord answered our prayers pro-viding cool temperatures, a perfect running day, andstrength to finish the 26.2 mile race 3 minutes faster thanlast year and 3rd among the 40 who were in his age divi-sion.

LLHS HOMECOMING WEEK OCTOBER 4 -8The parade, floats and decorations are all returning this year to make homecoming a spe-

cial event.A major change will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 6th, of homecoming week. It is a

scheduled day of school and all students will be expected to attend. The entire day will betotally dedicated to homecoming activities. In the morning students will be divided up in or-der to work on floats, hall and door decorations, window and mural painting. In the after-noon, many class activities and competitions will take place. Supper will be served, followedby the talent show. The talent show should end around 8:00 p.m.The afternoon buses will not run until after the talent show. The Homecoming game will be

on Friday, October 8th, with LLHS vs. Columbus at 7:00 p.m.
