Can/should the Board establish a policy or practice to indicate how often a temporary license can be renewed? 4. Can the Board interpret the reciprocity statute (ORS 688.495) to say that, once a person has been licensed by OBMI through reciprocity with another state, then that person can continue to be renewed, even if our state requirements change (i.e. we add a national credentialing requirement)? 5. Review Board policy Can certain cases that now come before the Board be delegated to the executive director? a. First-time DUII which resulted in diversion b. adoption of rule 2. Update from hospital association regarding licensure compliance survey 3. Update on proposed legislative concepts for 2013

a) To require sonographers to have passed an exam in any of the four broad categories in which they practice

b) To outlaw “keepsake ultrasound” businesses in Oregon and restrict who can buy and sell ultrasound equipment.

New Business: 1. Discussion of provisional licensure/temporary licensure/ways to enable licensees to cross-train toward

credentialing in another modality a. Proposed new rulemaking for temporary licensure: Allow persons who currently have a medical

imaging license to obtain a temporary license in a different modality, for the purposes of obtaining the necessary experience to sit for the registry exam.

2. Possible consent agenda process for certain disciplinary cases 3. For consideration: Do we want to cut off provisional licenses on 12-31-13? 4. OHSU is talking about discontinuation of Bone D classes. There may be no Bone D classes in Oregon. 5. Some proposed agenda ideas for July 12 retreat

a. Legal briefing by Carol Parks, Senior Assistant Attorney General b. Discussion of semi-independence for the OBMI administrative structure c. Can we phase-out mailing renewal reminders? d. Board policy for sharing licensee contact list with outside entities
