KPAC Young Artists Winter Workshop Auditions The Krider Per-forming Arts Center young artists group will host a Winter Workshop auditions for ages 8-12 on Friday December 16th from 3-4:30pm or Saturday December 17th from 11:30am to 1pm. Ages 13-18 auditions will be Friday December 16th from 4:30 to 6pm or Saturday December 17th from 1-3pm. The age 8-12 group will be performing “The Drum”, a mini-musical based on a Tale of Generosity, a wonderful folk tale from India. All students who register and audition will be included. Rehearsals will be Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning January 3rd from 5:30-7pm. Performances are set for February 17th at 7pm and February 18th at 3pm. The cost to participate is $30. For the 13-18 year old group, the performance will be “Sketches”, writ-ten and directed by Brooke McCord. There is only 10 roles in this play and it will be by auditions only, but there will also be numerous opportunities back-stage for anyone not cast on stage. It is $30 to participate and Rehearsals begin Tuesdays and Thursdays on January 3rd from 6:30-8pm and Performances are February 17th at 7pm and February 18th at 3pm. Eiffel Tower Lightening Ceremony On Tuesday evening December 20th 2016 at 5:30 pm there will be a ceremo-ny to showcase the new lighting project of Paris’ signature landmark, the Eiffel Tower, located in Eiffel Tower Park off Volunteer Drive.The official lighting cer-emony will take place at 5:30 pm, with a short presentation of donors, a demon-stration of the many light colors that can be created and there will also be a short performance by the Henry County High School Madrigals to demonstrate the mu-sical dancing effect of the new lights.

‘A Soldier’s Christmas’ ProgramJohnsonville State Historic Park will host ‘A Soldier’s Christmas’ on Friday and Saturday, December 16 and 17. The event will take place each day from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the park’s historic soldier hut living history ares just inside the park gate. Park visitors will have the opportunity to witness a real Civil War Soldier’s Christmas as members of the 43rd Wisconsin Infantry, a Union living history organization, will be encamped each day demonstrating period Christmas cooking and camp life inside and outside authentically decorated winter soldier huts.

Cherry Limeade Pie original recipe makes 1 8-inch pie 2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened 4 ounces frozen limeade concentrate, thawed 2 tablespoons white sugar 1 (9 in) prepared graham cracker crust 1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling 1/2 cup whipped cream, or to taste

Beat cream cheese in a bowl using an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Add limeade concentrate and sugar and beat until light and fluffy, at least 5 minutes. Spoon mixture into graham cracker crust; refrig-erate until chilled, at least 4 hours. Top pie with cherry pie filling and whipped cream.

Loaded Cauliflower Casserole original recipe makes 8 servings6 slices turkey bacon, or more to taste 1 large head cauliflower, cut into florets 1/2 cup sour cream 1/2 cup mayonnaise 1 clove garlic, minced 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper 2 cups shredded Colby-Monterey Jack cheese, divided 1 (8 oz) package baby bella mushrooms, roughly chopped 6 tablespoons chopped fresh chives, divided

Mushroom Turnovers original recipe makes 10 servings1 (8 oz) package cream cheese 1 cup butter 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 2 tablespoons butter 3/4 pound fresh mushrooms, finely chopped 1/2 medium onion, chopped 1/8 teaspoon dried thyme 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper 1 1/2 teaspoons all-purpose flour 1/2 cup sour cream In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese and 1 cup of but-ter until well blended. Mix in the flour until fully incorporated. Pat into a ball, and refrigerate while you make the filling. Melt 2 table-spoons of butter in a large skillet. Add the mushrooms and onion.

Season with thyme, salt and pepper. Cook and stir until tender, about 5 minutes. Sprinkle the flour over everything then reduce the heat to low, and stir in the sour cream. Heat just until thickened, then remove from the heat. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out to about 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into 3 inch rounds. Place a small amount of the mushroom mixture on one side of each circle, then fold the dough over and press to seal. Prick the tops with a fork to vent steam, and place the pastries on a baking sheet. (They can also be frozen at this time until needed.) Bake for 15 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown. If bak-ing frozen turnovers, it may take an additional 5 minutes.
