1986 Iwatec Italia Srl has been founded, distributor in Italy for Iwatec SA Switzerland. 1988 Company changed to “Powertronix Srl”, OEM contract with Boyung Electronics (Korea) 1989 Export sales begins through distributors in Egypt, England, Germany, Spain, France and Uruguay. 1993 Modification of company’s name to “Powertronix SpA”.

Mizar and Alcor, the ultimate Powertronix UPS, using a true on-line double conversion technology protect and isolate the load against blackout, brownout and all power quality disturbances. These multipurpose UPS can be used as Three Phase, Single Phase and with Three Phase input and Single Phase output.

The most advanced features are the rectifier and the inverter with High Frequency switching IGBT, giving a very low input THD ( < 3%) and input sinusoidal current absorption with power factor 1.

Thanks to the trafoless design, the UPS has a very high efficiency (95 %) in the smallest dimensions for this power range. The parallel redundancy is up to 8 units.

Vela, the new Powertronix UPS, an improvement and completion of Quasar Series, using a true on-line double conversion technology protects the load against blackout, brownout and all power quality disturbances.

Designed to provide stabilized and filtered power, especially for supporting sophisticated and sensitive electronic devices (i.e. for data processing systems), Quasar and Vela can be used for medical centers, police stations, motorway tunnels, broadcasting stations, banks, technical and administrative offices, requiring continuous supply and a power source free from voltage and frequency variations. Thanks to the trafoless design and to the power module with High Frequency switching IGBT, these UPS have a very high efficiency (95%) in the smallest dimensions for this power range.

Flexible and versatile, they are available in three different ratings (Quasar 40kVA, Vela 50kVA and 60kVA) and configurations according to the requested input THD reduction.

The parallel redundancy, done with optical fibers, is up to 8 units.

ATLAS, the Powertronix medium size UPS Series, which has true on-line double conversion topology, high frequency PWM technology, digital control, low noise level, high efficiency and upgraded man-machine interface, is available in three different ratings (80kVA, 100kVA and 120 kVA).This UPS is covered by two PATENTS (Nr. 002509 “Double voltage booster dc/dc converter for high power electronic supplies” and Nr. 002510 “Saturable reactor with ferrite core” ). A further PATENT Nr. 002588 covers the “Radio frequency suppression electronic filter”.

Presentation

The main technical characteristics are pure output sinewave, cold start, zero time transfer, IGBT Power modules, digital control, battery management, storing of events, self-diagnostics and small footprint.Up to eight systems can be installed in parallel connection with distributed by-pass. An innovative 12 pulse configuration limits the input Total Harmonic Distortion to less than 5%.All these are characteristics that allow us to confirm that the ATLAS UPS. Systems are an expert solution for any type of power supply requirement.

The SUPERNOVA Series is the latest technological novelty engineered by Powertronix, covered by two PATENTS (Nr. 002509 and Nr. 002510). The Series has six power ratings: 160, 200, 250, 300, 400 and 500 kVA.These UPS are studied to protect large electrical installations, intelligent buildings, industrial plants, automated production lines. This three phase Uninterruptible Power Supply Series has true on-line double conversion topology, high frequency PWM technology, digital control, 0.99 power factor, low noise level, high efficiency and upgraded man-machine interface.Up to 8 systems can be installed in parallel connection with distributed by-pass.

The SUPERNOVA Series has a special and innovative cooling system (PATENT Nr. 002589) where the cooling fluid is circulating in a sealed circuit chilled by redundant cooling fans.

This innovative feature is studied to eliminate the heat stress from the power components for a better UPS performance and an efficiency improvement.

Thanks to this technology the components are cooled better than in any other system available on the market
