Neue Funktionen

Profile Creator

A graphical menu was added for "Auto Settings". Three processes can be executedautomatically at Windows startup:

1. Assigning of DWG-files to a specific AutoCAD profile. Opening DWG files via double-clickfrom explorer is now reliable possible.

2. Creation of a CADISON profile which bases on a specific AutoCAD profile. Useful, if a newuser logs on to Windows and starts Designer first time.

3. Activation of a specific CADISON domain.

System Analyser

A new button provides extended functionality:1. Compare analyses files: the differences in two selected analyses files are shown. Useful to

check for missing files after doing a server relocation.2. Warning, when acad.exe uses more than a given threshold value of memory: by using a

graphical slider it is now possible to select a value inside of the available system memoryfor acad.exe. If the memory usage exceeds this value, a warning is given. This is usefull incase of e.g. 2D-Extraction of a 3d-model, which is very memory intensive.

3. Start Simply Shoot It!: create a video of your screen to show occuring problems to theCADISON Hotline to help them solve your problem.

New Option -SORTARTICLES in ITFTOOLS

Catalog entries inside of a project database are created as ow_Article-Objects which aremanaged by ow_ArticleManager. This manager does not delete catalog entries whichmeans, unused entries remain in the database. The new option requires the name of a database as parameter. In this database allcatalog entries are verified by ow_ArticleManager if they are still used. If not, they aredeleted. Additionally it verifies the correct storage inside ArticleManager. Attention: usage of this function can take long time on large databases.

Functional Changes

Displaying the SAP window in CADISON without waiting for a response

From this version it is possible to display the SAP window in CADISON, when the SAPcommand is invoked in CADISON. Therefor, a new setting must be made in the SAPtransfer command. In der INI-Datei, in welcher der SAP-Befehl für CADISON definiert wird, müssen folgendeZeilen eingefügt werden:In the INI file, where the command for SAP is defined in CADISON, the following linesmust be inserted:NOWAIT=1USE_SAPGUI=1ASK_LOGIN=1NOWAIT=1 means, that CADISON must not wait for response from the ABAP functionmodule, and keep on running after the SAP function was called.USE_SAPGUI=1 is specified when starting the SAP, so that SAP may display its windows.

ASK_LOGIN=1 means that CADISON should not use the SAP user name and passwordfrom the CADISON.INI, but the user must ask for another login. It is currently the task of the ABAP function module to display the user interface of SAP.The invoked ABAP function module can then open any SAP window to display specificinformation such as a purchase order.

Instruction P_defaultFileName for sub-elements .DEF-files

If a new construction set is defined, this can contain existing sub-elements. Thesesub-elements were defined in the different DEF-files.If the construction set is saved/exported in a DEF-file, even the name of the DEF file isshown per sub-element in the Attribute P_defaultFileName, in which the sub-element wasdefined originally. If the DEF-file is later imported again, the attribute P_defaultFileName was overwrittenautomatically with the name of the main DEF file till now while importing for thesub-elements. From this version, the specification P_defaultFileName is transfered fromthe DEF-file unchanged (for the sub-elements).If the sub-elements for P_defaultFileName should receive the same entry as the mainobject, the CADISON-Administrator in the DEF-files must delete the correspondingATTRIBUT;P_defaultFileName-lines. Then the name of the main DEF file is enteredautomatically for the sub-elements again. The modification especially in the Visio environment was necessary. So as to correctlycreate the sub-elements of construction sets, CADISON must know in which DEF-filesthese sub-elements were defined originally.

Graphic files in .DEF files for sub-objects

If a construction set is defined in the Designer, in which other existing sub-elements areavailable (e.g. valves, pumps, drives), all these sub-elements in the construction set aretransferred (copied). The sub-elements however still contain the reference to the graphicfiles (DWG- and SLD-files), in which they were originally defined. If the construction set is however saved in a DEF-file, the paths for the graphic files ofthe sub-elements were changed till now. In fact the path was overwritten with the pathto the current main DEF-file. If the DEF-file was then exported again, the sub-elements with this file path aretransfered. As the graphics are however not available in this path, the sub-elementscannot be inserted alone (e.g. for drawing comparison). The graphics were received onlywhen the complete construction set was inserted. From this version, while saving the DEF file, file path of the sub-elements to the graphicsis not modified any more. After a new export of the DEF-files, therefore the sub-elementsstill always point to the original files, in which they were originally defined.

Note:So as to archive such a construction set or to transfer in other CADISON-domains, theCADISON Administrator must copy the given graphic files in the main DEF-file manually.Where applicable, the graphics of the sub-elements in the same directory of theconstruction set DEF file can be copied and the file paths in the DEF file are readjusted. Optionally, in the CADISON.INI even the following entry can be created:

[PHi-CADISON]USE_EXISTING_FILES_IN_MAIN_DEF_FILES=NO

If this entry is available, while saving the main DEF file again the path of the sub-objectsis readjusted, and at the same time even the graphic files of the sub-elements (SLD- andDWG-files) in the directory of the main DEF-file is copied. The user must however payattention himself to the fact that through that no existing files are overwritten in thetarget directory. The graphics of other construction sets, which are saved in the samedirectory are eventually changed.

Default size for Versant database setting max_page_buffs

The default size for the entry max_page_buffs in profile.be of each new database waschanged from 4096 to 8192.

Bugfixes

Message 'Error in property ...' at system initialization

While system initialization it may happen that message like „Error in property .. at object..: Value … is not in list of values…“ appear in the system hints. Usually this messageappears when the default value is not included in the list of values. In some cases it may happen that the message is issued, although the default value isincluded in the list of values. Especially if existing properties are overwrited with newdefinitions, this message may be displayed incorrectly. The reason for this is when the property definition saves the default value first and thenthe selection list is assumed. With the takeover of the default value, it will be checkedagainst the existing (old) list of values. Here, the message may result. Only in the nextstep, the new list of values will be taken. This bug is fixed in this version. When initializating, the default value will be assumedafter the takeover of the minimum value, the maximum value and the values of thechart. Thus, the correct default value will be checked against the new m inimum value, maximum value and the new values of the chart.

Defective default database after updating the databases

If operating with the option "Only update the object model" in the DB conversion tool, thedefault database could also be selected from the list. If the default database wasinitialized with this option, you received an incorrect default database. From this versionwill ensure that both options are not elected simultaneously. If the option "Only update the object model" is selected, the entry of the default databasewill be automatically deselected in the database list, If the option "Only update the objectmodel" and the default database is activated in the database list, the activation is notperformed.

Crash while cleaning a database

In rare cases it can so happen that while using an ITFTOOLS -CLEAN option, the revisionof the database crashed and a data base error could not be revised. This error iscorrected in this version.

Message "Value not contained in value list" on first system initialization

During first initialisation of the system, CADISON showed a message, that an irregularvalue was defined for the attribute AREA_MECH, which is not existant in the value list.

Text "options" in dialog for system initialisation was not translated

This text was not translated in englsih and russian version of CADISON.

Objectmodel

New Functions

Dynamic properties in the object model

From this version, CADISON supports so called "Dynamic Properties". In a CADISONobject model, it is possible to define dynamic properties, which are only available, depending on other property values (so called "Master Properties").

New imperial units in unit file

From this version, the following new units are inserted in CADISON: lb, f/s, lb/ft3, lb/s,lb/h, ft3/s, ft3/min and ft3/h.

New attributes at PHI-BEAM

New attributes "start Offset" and "End Offset" were added. See also chapter for3D-Designer.

New attributes at "Valve, 3 way" and "Angular Valve"

The new attribute TYPECLASS was added at the objects "Valve, 3 way", "Angular valve","Pump", "Compressor", "Drive". The following selection-lists have been implemented:Pump: pump, general; centrifugal pump; positive-displacement pump; gear pump;screw pump; helical rotor pump; reciprocating pump; diaphragm pumpCompressor: compressor, general; compressor, general; vacuum pump, general;reciprocating compressor; reciprocating diaphragm compressor; turbo compressor;positive-displacement compressor; roller vane compressor; rotary compressor; screwcompressor; liquid ring compressor; ejector compressor; blower, general; radial blowerAngular Valve: Angle valve, general; angle globe valve; angle ball valveValve, 3-Way: tree-way valve, general; tree-way globe valve; tree-way ball valveDrive: hand drive; piston drive; diaphragm drive; actuator; actuator, NO; actuator, NC

The reason for this customization is:

1) Usage for dynamic symbols2) One more differentiation for the MATPIPE-Selector. To use this functionality, thefollowing rules have to be followed:o The file an_art.flt for object class "Valve straight" has to be complemented with

search critera [TYPECLASS].o In MATPIPE catalogs, the property [TYPECLASS] has to be added as main-entry and

the field has to be filled from the selection list according to the object type.If the type class of e.g. "Valve straight" in Engineer matches the type class of the catalogobject from MATPIPE, then this catalog object is automatically shown in the searchresults of the Selector.

Functional Changes

Definition of ListFromFile-properties as a function of the object type

The definitions of ListFromFile-properties has taken place exclusively in the name of thedependency property and was independent of a CADISON object type. For a property,

Page 10: R11.0 Release Notes · 2 ITandFactory GmbH CADISON R11.0 Release Notes Table of Contents CADISON R11.0 Release Notes 3 Administration and Objectmodel 4 Installation 4 Administration

CADISON R11.0 Release Notes

there has been a single configuration file LFF.From this version, CADISON checks, if there`s a special configuration file for a propertydepending on the object type. Depending on the object type, a separate LFF configurationfile can be stored for the property.

LISTFROMFILE properties with list values

In the object model, lists of values can be stored for EDITABLE- and QUICKEDITproperties. These values are stored internally in CADISON. For the output, the "full text"is used to be displayed, depending on the current language. From this version, LISTFROMFILE- property also supports the value lists stored in theobject model. If a value from the LISTFROMFILE- definition file should be in association toan internal value, the internal value will be stored. This allows the object model to build up more language-independent formulas based onLISTFROMFILE properties.

Changes in objectmodel for Project Management

The following changes were done:- Unit "DEM" replaced with "EU"- Unit "DEM/h" replaced with "EU/h"- Formula for PERIOD_DIFFREL (time diffenrence %) corrected- New property PERCREADY_CALC (% of done calculation) corrected

LISTFROMFILE attribute in Objectmanager

Attribute of type LISTFROMFILE can now be edited in Objectmanager.

New Functions

CAESAR II interface

CADISON R11 provides an interface to export pipe data for stress analysis to CAESAR II.Please find more details on this topic in the CADISON onlinehelp.

Revit AddIn to the DWG-Export as per CADISON

For the Export of DWG's in the Autodesk Revit Application now, an additional module asAddin is available with which the DWG's with corresponding presettings can be created. This is found in the menu additional module in the panel of CADISON. By clicking theCADISON-Export Button the DWG-Export Dialog is accessed. The drawings created here can then be imported in CADISON over the documentmanagement (import additional documents) e.g. imported in a document group. Finallythis drawing can be refered over the CADISON-XREF-Manager.

CADISON Project Manager / Task Manager Viewer

CADISON R11 provides an Addin to manage project plan information from MicrosoftProject 2007 and 2010 in CADISON projects. You can export resources and tasks into CADISON projects, change the time for the tasksin CADISON and update them by import in MS Project.Use the Task Manager Viewer to show the tasks from CADISON projects in Gantt charts. The software is available in a basic version which has some functional limitations (e.g.when you do multiple export of task information to the same CADISON project).

Save the SAP-log in information

When the following entry is available in case of a SAP-transfer command in thecorresponding configuration file.

Save the SAP-log in information

When the following entry is available in case of a SAP-transfer command in thecorresponding configuration file:ASK_LOGIN=1CADISON asks the user for his SAP-Login. From this version, CADISON memorises theuser data in the current CADISON-session. If the SAP command is accessed again in thesame CADISON-session, then automatically the Login given earlier is again used.

New properties for object revisions

If a revision is created from an object (not document revision), two new properties arefilled from this version. In "P_lastobjrevisionuser", the name of the user who created therevision is saved, and in "P_lastobjrevisiondate" the time of creation of revision is saved. As soon as an object revision is created, the revised objects have these two additionalproperties, which are shown in the ObjectEditor and ObjectInspector in the tab"Revision".

By using the option “reset object revisions“ while copying, these properties can bedeleted for copied objects.

Open Catalog directly from Selector

From this version on, the dialog for opening catalogs can be used in Selector. Selection ofa catalog is more comfortable here.

CADISON API: new function CopyRevisionData to transfer revisionproperties

From this version on the new function CDSNPropertyObject.CopyRevisionData() wasimplemented. This allows to transfer revision data from one object to another. Thefollowing properties are transferred: REVISION, P_revisioncomment,P_lastobjrevisionuser und P_lastobjrevisiondate. This function can only be unsed, whilelogged in to CADISON as administrator.

Functional Changes

Merging of object in the tree after Drag&Drop

If objects are copied and pasted within the projects via the context menu in theCADISON-Tree, or via shortcuts Ctrl + C / CTRL + V , the mechanism of merging objectsis used automatically, defined in the configuration file DbCopy.mrg.The mechanism hasn`t been used when objects had to be copied with Drag&Drop in thetree while holding down the CTRL key. From this version, the mechanism of merging isalso used automatically at this act.

Cancellation of ordered objects

When using the ERP interface in CADISON, ordered objects can be monitored inCADISON. If these objects are changed or deleted, CADISON create a so-called "DeletedItems", which maintains the values of the original object. The deleted object can then beused for a cancellation process in the ERP system. When creating a deleted object, all the properties of the original object are aacceded. Also the date fields "Creator" and "Last editor" were transefed. From this release, Thesefields are no longer assumed to find out, which user has created the deleted object.

Dialogue for system reinitializing

"Saving objects in .DEF files" option is now selected by default in the system initializedialog, to prevent system without user-defined objects to initialize.

Display of the help text of a property in Object Editor and ObjectInspector

In the Object Editor and Object Inspector, when the mouse is positioned on a Propertyline, information text is displayed in the status bar. So far this was composed of theinternal property names and the complete property names. From this version, instead ofthe complete property name, the help text inserted in the object model is displayed. Ifthis is not available, the complete property name is displayed as earlier.

To assign new catalog entries in CCC-Testing, if catalog entry is deleted

So far, in the dialog of the CCC-Testing objects, the catalog entries could be assigned

Page 13: R11.0 Release Notes · 2 ITandFactory GmbH CADISON R11.0 Release Notes Table of Contents CADISON R11.0 Release Notes 3 Administration and Objectmodel 4 Installation 4 Administration

only when the current status was “not updated”. From this version, a catalog entry canalso be assigned when the status is ”catalog entry deleted“. Therefore, objects for whichthe catalog entry is manually deleted automatically reassigned the catalog entry usedearlier.

Accelerated Tree- and Table design for opening a Tree-/Table window

If a new Tree/table window is opened in the ProjectEngineer or in the ProjectNavigator, astructural view is automatically selected on the basis of which the Tree- and Tablecontent is established. This process is optimized in this version so that especially in thebigger databases, the display of the tree and the table takes place faster. Even then, the selection of another structural view was optimized.

Table export to CSV / XML

From this Version, CADISON shows a progress bar while exporting more than 500 objectsfor the commands "Export to CSV" and "Export to XML".

MFC dialogs in CADISON now support various display scales i.e. 100% aswell as 125%

In Windows 7, it is possible to change the display scale of the computer from 100% to125% or even 150%. Earlier, CADISON dialogs were displayed properly only for 100%display scale. Now, all MFC dialogs in CADISON such as Editor dialog, Object managerdialog, object filter dialog, find catalogs dialog, table dialog, search dialog, organizeproject dialog and synchronize drawing dialog support scales other than 100%.

Attribute exchange in Excel-Reports

It is possible to define an exchange of attributes in the project properties (eax-file). Thisfile can be utilised also while creating Excel reports. Earlier, this attribute exchange wasconsidered while creating a report but not while updating/revising it. This wasimpemented in R11.

Saving Catalog Entries

Catalog entries are saved only once inside a project database. This entry is used by allidentical catalog objects. If an already used entry is again inserted into a project it couldhappen sometimes that objects were changed which were not selected. The graphic ofthese objects could change unintentionally. from this version on, only selected objectsare updated.

Fitting dialog size to maximum screen resolutionCADISON remembers the size and position for many dialogs. This information is usednext time the dialog is displayed. But if the current resolution is lower and the dialogcannot be desplayed in the saved size, this dialog was displayed in default size. Fromnow on the width and heights will be set to maximum available space.

Bugfixes

Column width in configuration table after "Drag and Drop"

When a header of a CADISON table is moved by drag and drop to a different location (or"released" at the same place), the width of the column got internally lost. When theconfiguration of the columns has been saved and loaded again, or the project was closed

and reopened, all columns have been adjusted to the width of "160".This error has been corrected, and makes sure, that the width of the columns don`t getlost after using "drag and drop" on the title.

Too many menu items to context menu in reports and documents

In the context menu, CADISON shows numerous sub- menu entries in some commands, depending on the available configuration files or database contents. For example, in thecontext menu for generating reports or documents, all available report templates or TPLfiles are determinated from the current template directory. So far, more than 500 of such automatic sub-menu entries were managed in CADISON. Ifmore menu entries are invoked, CADISON could crash when calling up a menu item. The boundary has been extended to 1000 entries in this version. In addition, this borderis considered by the construction of the menu, so that under some circumstances, themenu may automatically be reduced by CADISON. If so, CADISON displays a messagewhen constructing the following menu : - report template- document template- configurations (definition of view for tree or chart)- user defined chart configuration For the other "dynamic" menues, all entries are reduced without a message

Summation error in Table

The summation in the CADISON chart previously worked incorrectly. If a column hasbeen summed up, in which are displayed certain unit characteristics, only the first valueof the number before the decimal point was used. The decimal value of the first weregenerally ignored. With REAL properties all the digits were generally ignored in the summationThis bug is fixed in this version.

CCC processing shows wrong status "catalog entry solved"

If a new catalog entry is assigned to one or more objects and the CCC function is active, the object property "status of the data catalog" is automatically adjusted to "catalogentry assigned" . In some cases it could happen, however, that this property is set to"solved catalog entry". This error has been corrected.

The title of the selector window is not translated

The translation error in the title of the window of selector is corrected in the currentversion.

Command "Move to recycle bin" not available in Tree

In the latest version, the command “Move Data base in recycle bin" was not available inthe context menu of the tree. From this version, the command is again available.

Wrong object in the context menu of the Logic-analyser aftersorting/filtering

If the sorting is changed in the Logic-Analyser in the Table or is filtered in the table andthen in case of an object the context menu is accessed, till now, the context menu for awrong object was displayed. This error is corrected.

Headline of dialog "Automatic Notification"

When activating the option "Automatic Notification" in dialog "CADISON notification/status", an internal acronym appeared.

Crash when deleting documents from system tree

When a document was deleted from system tree, it could happen that CADISON crashed.

Tooltip and Help Text related issue

Help texts and tooltips were not shown for some newer dialogs in "Engineer" and"Designer" modules.

Bad file-performance with activated security-concept

If the service for the security concept on the CADISON server was not active, this couldresult in bad performance if a command was started which is manipulating manydocument groups.

Tree crash with circular referenced Xrefs

If the Tree was updated using F5-key, CADISON would crash when it contained drawingswhich have circular referenced Xrefs.

Tree crash during update

If the Tree was opened in multi user environment on many workstations and showed thesame objects, it could lead to a crash of Designer when the Tree was updated.

Update of the Tree with deleted objects

If the Tree shows objects, which were deleted by another user on another computer, themessage "Object was deleted by other application" was displayed. But the deleted objectswere not propery removed from the Tree, even after update. This behaviour was fixed.

CADISON API returns empty CDSNProjects Collection when havingexternal database server

If the actual database domain refers to an external database server, we received anempty CDSNProjects Collection when the method "Projects" was called on the databaseobject. Also, when calling the property "DbName" from CDSNProject-Object, only thedatabase name was returned but without the server name (e.g. "Test.prj" instead of"Test.prj@servername").

Reportgenerator

Functional Changes

Output of digits in Excel Reportgenerator

If the Excel Reportgenerator gives as output digital values with comma, CADISON alwayswrote a point (".") as output for decimal separation. From this version on, the separatorwhich is defined in the operating system is used.

Bugfixes

Output of properties depending on object type

For the definition of an Excel reports in the TPL file, the DEFAULT= line defines whichproperties should be spent. In additional it is possible to overwrite the properties forcertain types of objects. This functionality was previously not available whensimultaneously the objects were combined and summed. This bug has been fixed in thisversion.

Visibility setting is not considered when creating report

So far, all objects will be put out in a report, impartial of their settings of visibility. Inrelease 11 the visibility of objects for the user in the current CADISON session will beevaluated to create a report and only the objects, which are visible for the user will beevaluated.

Attribute exchange in Excel-Reports

In a CADISON-Project, an attribute exchange (.AEX file) can be selected for the project. This attribute exchange can be used even for the report creation. Till now, the setattribute exchange was even observed for the creation of Excel-Reports, however not forupdating/revising Excel Reports. This error is corrected.

Excel-Reports in secondary language

The Option "secondary langauge" was not correctly supported till now for Excel-Reports.This error is corrected.

Updating Reports of type SPECSHEET

When a report is updated, which uses the SPECSHEET definition, it was not possible to doan update.

Output of NOMVOLT in MSR-Report "Consumption List"

Attribute NOMVOLT was misspelled as NOM_VOLT. This is corrected in this version.

Functional Changes

Extension of the pipeline dialog to the KKS function group

The requirement also consists of having the possibbility that the pipline can be directlysubordinated in the dialog of a KKS- function group. Both the assignments should not bepossible in the dialog at the same time. That means, it is sufficient if either the “logicalplant“ or “KKS Function groups” can be selected in the dialog. This is implemented inRelease 11.

Display of the text "BLOCK" for "change graphic variants”

If the command "change graphic variants" is accessed, all available graphic variantsappear in a window. So far all these were labeled in the window with the text "BLOCK".From this version, the name of the default object which defines the graphic variantappears.

Adjustment of the components dependent on the flow direction

The function in CADISON for checking and adjusting along the flow direction observed tillnow, only objects, which are directly joint with a pipe route (or pipes in 3D) are joint. Ifan object dependent on the flow direction is not directly joint with a pipe route (e.g. anon return flap, which is inserted with two flanges in a 2D pipe route), the object ofCADISON is not adjusted any more. In this version this limitation is removed. Now all elements up to the next piping routeare tested and automatically adjusted where applicable.

Accelerated assembly of the tree/tables dialog

If one of the combined Tree/Tables dialog is opened in CADISON (e.g. the dockable treedialog in the Designer), then in this version, the initialization of the Trees and Table isoptimized, so that the dialog is assembled quickly.

Correct sorting of list in menu "Change Nominal Width"

DN-values in dialog "Change Nominal Width" are now sorted in correct order.

In "Pipeline dialog", text fields of "Pipe specification" and "NominalSize" are editable

Earlier user was able to type anything in the editable combos. Now user can only selectfrom the available Drop List. The type of "Combo-box Controls" were "Dropdown" in“Pipeline dialog” now changed to "Drop List" for Media, Pipe Specification and LogicalPlant/KKS Function group. For "Nominal Size" it is kept as it is i.e. editable. For PIDDrawing, the user may input Nominal size as per requirement in case catalog is notavailable.

If an object has a designation text on a drawing, but this attribute does not existanymore in the object model, the text is deleted.

Bugfixes

Opening a drawing via the context menu of projects and documentmanagement dialog in Designer

If a drawing is opened in the Designers via the context menu with the dialogue "projectand document management", this drawing is opened then in a new designer in thecurrent session instead.

German error messages in English version

In the english Designer, it could happen that some German error messages were issued. This error has been corrected.

Crash while saving and closing drawings

The Designer could crash in case of closing and saving drawings, while multiple drawingsare loaded. This happened especially when a drawing contained Xref drawings and thesewhere opened in the same Designer session.

Crash while saving drawings

While saving and closing drawings, it could happen that Designer crashes.

Designer gets hanged after using Synchronize Drawing dialog

Designer was getting hanged after highlight command was executed from CADISON tree. This was only happening if Synchronize Drawing dialog was opened before this command. The reason was that, handle of Synchronize Drawing dialog was not removed from theinternal list after OK button is clicked or Double click is done in client area.

Setting drawing unit to "inch" or "feet"

It was impossible to insert a drawing frame when the unit of this drawing was set to inchor feet. If the unit was different, a frame with unit feet or inch could be inserted, but laterit was impossible to change the drawing unit.

Crash in Designer with ObjectInspector

If the object, which was actually shown in ObjectInspector, was deleted it could lead to acrash. For this, the mouse cursor had to be moved into the Inspector window, so that thiswindow hat to be redrawn by the software. This was fixed.

New Functions

Updating SAP Material number in the catalog from SAP-transfercommand

There is a new function in the ERP-interface, with which a restoration of a materialnumber from the ERP-System can be saved automatically in the used catalog entry. If a CADISON-Object currently does not have any active catalog entry (though it still hasthe catalog properties as “normal” properties), the catalog object in the Matpipe-catalogis not updated. Additionally, the article number in the catalog is checked before the rewriting, whetherthe object in CADISON uses the most updated catalog entry. If not, a correspondingmessage is displayed and the article number is not saved in the catalog.

Functional Changes

Extension of the configured labeling

The dialog for the configured labeling was changed. Besides the possibility of configuring“free texts", now even the optional separator (as free text) or no separator between theproperties is set. The last entered free text is saved for further use as user dependent and transferred incase of fresh access of the dialog automatically in the free text data field.

Change of symbols for measuring points

Measuring points now have now connection lines of object class "Effectline" instead of"Signalline"

Bugfixes

Command "Reset Attribute to default value” in Object Editor / ObjectInspector

If the command is accessed on a property, which would change for “Change the value ofthis object“ and thereby a formula was inserted, the property could not be reset to thedefault value. This error was corrected.

Batch plot changes drawings data

The use of the commands "batch plott," "batch update" and "PDF creation" could possiblychange the properties of drawings. Specifically, the values in the text fields have beenpartially restored in the wrong drawing. Thus, it could happen that after using thesecommands, the page numbers in the drawings were false. For example, the sheet numberfrom the title block of a drawing 1 was transfer to drawing 4.This bug has been fixed in this version.

Automatic updating of the drawing as per modification of AEX-setting

If another AEX-file is selected, it primarly has no consequence on the existing drawings. The already positioned symbols are not updated (and their designations). Here it is always necessary that the Designer-Function "set designation style" must beused. This manual process is not user friendly. The process is automatically executed inR11.On opening activation or after a live modification in project, when a drawing notices thatthe AEX setting used by the drawing is not same as the one set in project, the user isasked whether updating with the current project setting should be done. If the useranswers "Yes", the already positioned symbols and their designations are updated andthe current AEX-setting is saved in the drawing. Attention: such an updating is carried out only for specific drawing types: -PID-Electrotechnical drawings -No updating is done for 3D-plant layout

New Functions

Creation of screws for valve with collar or stub-end connection

If a valve is used instead of flange connections collar or flange connections, then whileinserting the valve in a pipeline of CADISON, automatically the counter collar / counterflange in the pipeline is created. On these collars/flanges, CADISON automatically createsa loose flange (if a corresponding pipe class is used) respectively. Till now, CADISONhowever could create no screw for the connection of loose flange with the valve. Fromthis version, CADISON automatically creates the required screw groups, if the screwproperties (e.g. SCREW_NUM) are defined for the stub-end connection of the valve.

Secondary Support Assistant

Secondary support is assembly of structural steel members. Generally pipelines aresupported by primary/standard supports which are supported by secondary support. InCadison R11, new functionality is added which will help in easier creation of secondarysupport assemblies. New object class for Secondary support is added which will help ineasier tracking of these objects. This functionality provides the option of automaticallylinking of standard supports to these secondary support. This will help in displaying tagsnumbers of secondary supports in Isogen drawing. Edit functionality is also provided tofacilitate quick in-place editing of Secondary support.Different types of commonly used support types are handled. E.g. T post, L post, InvertedL post, Cantilever, Braced cantilever, Goal post, Inverted Goal post.

Offsets in PHI-BEAM Class

New properties are added in phi-beam class "start offset" and "end offset". This propertyallows to apply offset to beam. Graphically beam is shown with offset.

Edit Vessel command

In earlier releases it was not possible to edit the vessel created through "Tank Assistant"command. It was required to specific steps manually, which was very time consuming."Edit Vessel" command is added in Cadison R11. This command allows user to edit thevessel and reduces the manual steps involved. Few known limitations of this command are as below1. Only vessel created in Cadison R11 and above can be edited2. In Tank assistant command, it is necessary that tank components are linked to parentvessel3. Any sub- components like nozzle, manways to be manually re-linked to edited vesselafterwards4. Position of edited vessel has to be manually adjusted afterwards5. Edit command internally deleted the existing tank components and re-creates it. Henceany user data applied to existing tank components will not be available after edit

Associative dimensioning for CADISON entities

For CADISON entities, Autocad dimensions are associative when DIMASSOC variable isset to 2. By default it is set to 1. Associative dimension means dimensions of entity getupdated when there is any modification in entity i.e. When stretch , move, rotate etc.commands are performed on entity, entity size get changed. So, there is need to updatecorresponding dimensions also.

CADISON R11.0 Release Notes

In CADISON, AutoCAD dimensions were not updated even though DIMASSOC set to2.This functionality is now available in release R11 for all Cadison custom entities exceptVariant entities (Catalog objects).

For Autocad Dimensions: All these dimensions are associative in both model space andpaper space, except for VC3D_VARIANTENTITY object class

For Cadison Dimensions: Iso-dimensions are supported for pipe entity only(VC3D_SEG4_CIRC object class), not for cable tray, steel beam or non-pipe entity. Also,to enable this feature DIMASSOC variable should be set to ON in the CADISON.INI file.

Current limitations:1. Entities which are placed through catalog i.e. VC3DVARIANT_ENTITY does not supportAssociative dimensioning for Autocad dimensions and Iso-dimensions.2. Iso-dimensioning is associative for individual pipe and reducer objects only(VC3D_SEG4_CIRC object class).3. Iso-dimensioning does not support commands: a. Centerline dimensioning b. Offset dimensioning c. Complete dimensioning of pipeline

Functional Changes

Simplified display of CADISON 3D-Elements for 2D-Extraction

With the CADISON-Function 2D-Extraction, if a 2D drawing is created from a 3D-drawing, all the CADISON 3D-Elements (like e.g. pipe elements, air conditioningelements and steel structure elements) for hte 2D creation are calculated. Especially, forthe piping elements, thereby even the inner geometries are calculated (thus the pipes gete.g. wall thickness). The calculation of the inner geometry however requires additionalcalculation time and working memory. Therefore from this version, for 2D-Extraction, no inner geometries of the CADISON3D-Elements are calculated any more. Thus e.g. a pipe is calculated as a solid cylinder. If e.g. for a hidden display, even the inner geometries are required, the completegeometry calculation can be activated again at any time over an entry in theCADISON.INI. For that, in the CADISON.INI, the following entry is available in thechapter [PHi-CADISON]:[PHi-CADISON]ACIS_EXPLODE_FULL=ON

2D-Extraction - Improvement and defect fixes

Following are the details of fixes/new implementation related to 2D extraction in CadiosnR11.

1. Additional graphics was seen in output drawing which was not seen in originallayout of CadsionThis belonged to xRef'ed drawing and this layer was frozen in Cadison drawing. Thisproblem has been fixed now to handle frozen and OFF layers of which were created forxref entities.

2. New Variable MAKE2D_EXPORT_UNMANGLELAYER in cadison.ini file to governthe behavior of layer name mangling for layers in xref drawingsWhen layer with same exists in master drawing and in xref drawing, there are twopossibilities of creating layer names in output drawing.

a. Unmangled layer names- Only one layer with same name is created. Though this

Page 23: R11.0 Release Notes · 2 ITandFactory GmbH CADISON R11.0 Release Notes Table of Contents CADISON R11.0 Release Notes 3 Administration and Objectmodel 4 Installation 4 Administration

23

ITandFactory GmbH

CADISON R11.0 Release Notes

serves the purpose for common cases of layers created by Cadison for Cadison object, however this can create wrong output if layer settings(color, line type etc.) are differentin master and xref drawings.

b. Mangled layer names- In this case two different layers are created in final output. Onefor master drawing and one for xRef drawing. e.g. "Layer1" and "$0$layer1". This is moreaccurate output as layer settings in master and xref drawing are honored. However thismay not be desired behavior for layers created by cadison for Cadison objects likepipeline wich can exists in both drawings.

In earlier release, "Unmangled layer names" was the default behavior. In Cadison R11,default behavior has been changed to "Mangled layer names". If user wich to have"Unmangled layer names" behavior then variable MAKE2D_EXPORT_UNMANGLELAYERneed to be set in Cadison.ini file with value ON.

Inventor interface enhancements

1) Updating already imported objectsIn R11, it is possible to update the objects which are already imported from Inventor toCADISON Designer. While exporting the Inventor model, a unique GUID is now sentthrough the XML file which gets saved in the target designer object. Along with this, theexport date/time stamp also gets saved in the target designer object.A new command is added in designer, which allows to update "Inventor" objects in thecurrent drawing. A table dialog shows a list of all such "Inventor" objects and user canselect the object which is to be updated. Then user needs to select the XML file whichcontains latest data and which might also point to a new geometry i.e. SAT file. CADISONthen checks if the GUID of selected object matches with the one in XML. If not, user isinformed about it. Also, user is informed if the date/time stamp in XML is older than theone saved in the object. After this, the object is updated with the latest data in XML.NOTE: This mechanism will not work for objects which are imported using older (10.1)version of Inventor interface.

2) Language independent XML and config filesThe XML file used as a communicator between Inventor and CADISON is now languageindependent. That means, user can generate the XML using German version of Inventorand import in English version of CADISON Designer. The options in the dialog will displayas per the language setting on the target computer. The config file must include requiredtranslation in it.

3) Handling of complex objects like Nozzle with flangeNormally, we add a nozzle to a tank and then connect a pipeline to nozzle with a flangein between. If user creates a tank using Inventor add-in, it is now possible to define aconnection type as “Nozzle with Flange” to achieve above functionality. After importing such amodel with this special connection point type, the interface will intelligently create required objectslike nozzle and flange under the main object i.e. vessel.

Request for filename of 2D-Extraction

The request for a filename when using the function "2D-Extraction" is now coming at thebeginning of the command, not at the end.

Bugfixes

Handling of Advance Steel entities in 2D Extraction command

In earlier version, entities from Advance steel software were not handled by 2D extraction

Page 24: R11.0 Release Notes · 2 ITandFactory GmbH CADISON R11.0 Release Notes Table of Contents CADISON R11.0 Release Notes 3 Administration and Objectmodel 4 Installation 4 Administration

command. Hence these entities were not written to output file. This issue has been fixedin Cadison version 11.0.0. To handle these entities from Advance Steel, one variable"MAKE2D_EXPORT_AST" need to be set in Cadison.ini file with value "ON". If this is donethen these entities are reflected in output drawing.

2D-Extraction: Output of wrong graphics from Xref's

After using 2D-Extraction function it could happen, that objects from Xref's were shownon the resulting drawing which should not appear. The reason was, that these objectswere situated on layers which were frozen (switched off). These layers are not consideredanymore.

Redundant tank components deleted

Following existing defect related to Tank Assistant has been fixed in Cadison R11. When your create Special vessel using tank assistant and then link it to parent Vesseldatabase object, in that case one redundant "eyelet" and "Tank Support" object are foundin the project database. Similarly in case of vertical vessel creation, "Tank Support"objects when "Inner Support" type of tank support was placed. This problem has been fixed and these redundant objects will not be created in projectdatabase in above mentioned workflows.

Crash while copying 3D-drawing elements

In some cases it can so happen that the Designer crashed if CADISON-Elements werecopied in 3D drawings, and it dealt with the copied elements to Matpipe-Objects, whichcontained a design specification. This error is corrected in this version.

ACIS Converter for bent pipe improved

In case of export of bent pipes as Acis-bodies, till now the elbow segments weredisplayed as approached as polylines. In R11, now the correct elbow elements aredisplayed.

Calculate the length of the bent pipe

Till now the length of the bent pipe was calculated only approximately, whereby theelbow length was created through the polyline segments. In R11, the elbow length isexactly established. In addition, in R11 the bent piping can also be displayed even like a normal piping in"single line“ mode.

Tank Assistant: After giving all parameters and attaching catalog, usercan change diameter

In Tank Assistant dialog for Vertical Vessel the user can change the Diameter value fromthe drop down list even after attaching a respective catalog for a Diameter value enteredpreviously. The change in Diameter value results in change in value of Volume forprevious value of Diameter. This should be prohibited with an error message.

Tank Assistant: Special Vessel shows conflict in the value of "Totalheight GH"

Special Vessel - After Loading Last Configuration, there is conflict in the value of "Totalheight GH".In Tank Assistant dialog for Special Vessel type, when user enters all the fields properlyand places the vessel in the drawing, the entries of all the fields gets saved in the

registry at, HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/ITandFactory/CADISON/TANKASSISTANT.Next time when a user invokes Tank Assistant dialog and click on "Load LastConfiguration" button of Special Vessel, all the fields gets loaded from registry. But "TotalHeight GH" was displaying a value same as "Internal Height LH" which was not proper. The Total Height GH should be addition of Internal Height LH and the Height H of all thesegments of a tank.

Not displaying Eyelets in case of Special Vessel

While placing the Special Tank in a drawing when user was trying to place the eyeletswith "Rotation Angle = 90 degree", the eyelets were not appearing into the drawing afterplacing a tank. And when user was trying to place eyelets with "Rotation Angle = 45degree" eyelets got placed but at default position i.e. with no rotation angle.

No error is displayed for Eyelets, if radius TR is greater than Radius ofTank

While entering the values in Eyelets dialog for Vertical Vessel, if value of Radius TR isgreater than the radius of Cap, the eyelets got placed outside the Cap without giving anyerror message to user.

Error when creating a bended pipe in a closed piping network

If a bended pipe was created as part of a bypass-pipeline, the bended pipe could not becreated.

Pipes are not updated after "Change nominal width"

Since version 10.1 it could happen, that after using the command "Change nominalwidth" the resulting smaller pipes were not updated to the correct length.

Surface and Volume of straight canal segments and round elbows

The elements "Canal segment straight" and "Elbow round" calculate a surface and avolume. It could happen that after changing the geometry, these values were notre-calculated.

Problem with copied Objects which belong to multiple groups

If an object belongs to a group of objects, this group membership should be deletedwhen the object is copied. Earlier, this lead to a strange behaviour: when selecting thecopy, also the original was selected.

ISOGEN

New Functions

Objects with connections in inch on metric iso-drawings

When an isometric drawing is created using ISOGEN, it shows the values for nominalwidth directly on the drawing. ISOGEN uses the unit which is defined in the projectproperties (MM or INCH). Is the setting MM, but an object with inch values is used, thenit is recalculated to MM which results in an inch value with prefix "DN". From now in,these converted values can be suppressed using a switch in cadison.ini:[PHi-CADISON]IGEN_ZERO_SIZE_INCHMM_MIX=1

The objectdescription is still shown in the BOM, but on the iso itself, there is no value.

Functional Changes

Output of painting specification in isometry

So far the text “paint specification: ---" was always released in the Isometry for ISOGENGAP-objects. The reason is that a CADISON-Field had the content "---", which means “notdefined” in CADISON. As the text "---" is assigned to Isogen, the text of Isogen washowever assigned. From this version, CADISON no more assigns any Text to Isogen, when the value inCADISON is same "---".

Disabling single elements in the part list on Isometry

Normally, objects which are displayed in an isometry drawing are also displayedalongwith in the Isogen part list on the isometry drawing. However, there can be cases in which it is undesirable that the elements in the Isogenpart list are displayed. Therefore from this version it is possible to disable single objectson the part list optionally. For that, in case of objects, only the property ISOGEN-DESCRIPTION (ISOGEN componentdescription) must be set on an empty text (e.g. through entry of the formula "=" for theuse of the function "Change Attribute definition of this attribute…”).

Bugfixes

Bent pipe in Isometry

Till now, bent pipes were not correctly displayed in the isometry drawing. Especiallyduring the use of extrusions on bent pipes, it could lead to numerous display problems. These errors are corrected in this version. From this version, extrusions are maintained, which are placed on straight segments ofthe bent pipe, even extrusions, which would be placed on elbows, if they are placeddirectly as elongations of straight segments on the outer “corner“ of the elbow.

Exception-Message for creation of an isometry

CADISON R11.0 Release Notes

In rare cases, it can so happen that for the isometry creation, an error message with thetitle “Exception in A_PISOGEN_GENERATE_ISO ARX Command" was displayed. The causeof this can be corrupt connection data of an object to be displayed with a connected drive(e.g. valve with drive). From this version, corrupt data is accepted so that no errormessage appears any more.

Dialog for creating Isometry

It can happen that it takes a very long time till the dialog for creation of isometry starts. The cause for that is that already during loading, the dialog tries to filter the list ofpipelines, which are found in the current drawing, from the complete piping lists of theproject. This process lasts especially for project with many pipelines and very longdrawings. In R11 the drawing of the list is started only when the user reaches thebutton "list of drawings“. In addition, a new button “list of projects“ is inserted so as todeliver the complete pipeline list again, which is then quite faster.

Unwanted weld at outlet

When an outlet is placed in Designer at e.g. a Tee or Cross, the program asks if a weldshall be created. When choosing "yes", a weld is created which is also displayed on theisomtric drawing. When choosing "no", no weld is created in the project but nonethelessit is displayed on the isometric. From this version on, a weld is only displayed on the iso when it is also inserted into theproject and subordered to an outlet.Note: outlets on pipes are not touched by this change.

Error message "PCF file could not ne created" while preview

While using the preview function in ISOGEN dialog, it happened that a message "PCF filecould not ne created" showed. It happened at pipelines with more than 9 resultingsheets. For each remaining sheet this message came.

Visio PID-Designer

New Functions

Visio save as

In Visio, now the command “Save under/save as“ was implemented. With it, the existingdrawings can be saved similar to ACAD under a new name. With the dialog “copy objects”which objects are copied is determined. This command is named over the "Save under" Symbol both in the quick access bar –even named QAT – accessible also in the file menu.

Rohrleitung mit Hilfe eines Verbinders zeichnen

Es ist nun möglich, Rohrleitungen mit Hilfe eines Verbinder-Objekts von Visio zuzeichnen, anstatt durch Verwendung der Schablone.

New title blocks and revision table

Two new title blocks plus revision tables were added: "R11_CADISON Title Block". Theseblocks support the new function "Positioning of revision table".

Functional Changes

Creating new shapes

When creating a new symbol or a new assembly in Visio, CADISON opens the VISIOlibrary in write mode to get the new symbole stored over there. So far, the library wasnot saved automatically, and also the write mode was kept on. This was the reason whyother users couldn`t store any new symbols in the same libraries. From this version, after discarding the new symbol and the new assembly, the library willbe automatically saved, closed and then reopened in read mode. After creating new labels, the label library will be opened in reading mode, too.

Editing labels

When the CADISON labeling command "edit object" is invoked, the CADISON objecteditor has not been appeared. Starting with this version, the object editor is invoked toedit the object, which belongs to the label.

Working with several labels

From this version on several CADISON labels / text masks can be selected in one drawingfor the command "edit object". The CADISON table then opens in which the objects aredisplayed, including the selected text labels and masks.

Accessing the Object Inspector with a caption or text-mask

Previously, the object inspector couldn`t be used when a CADISON label or CADISON textmask is selected. From this version it doesn`t matter whether the object label, the textform, or the actual object is selected. The object inspector is always used correctly.

DWG Exporter for Visio: Consideration of Polygonal lines that are notclosed at the time of hatching export

Visio is in the “not closed“ polygonal lines position to hatch, respectively with sample tofill. This is controlled with the flag of the Geometry-Section GeometryX.NoFill =(FALSE|TRUE]. Now if this flag is FALSE, then the polygonal lines which are not closed in AutoCAD duringDWG Export through an invisible line (from end point of the last Entities till the startingpoint of the first Entitees) are closed. Thus hatched shapes can be transferred correctly insuch a way.

DWG Exporter for Visio: Consideration of Splines, Layer, Images andbackground pages

The conversion was expanded at a section of important points:

Freehand lines / Nurbs-Splines:Now free hand lines (internally these are NURBS-Splines) are coverted to AUTOCAD. As adirect transfer from VISIO-Spline to AutoCAD – spline was not possible, the Splines arenow exported as Polyline. For that the following rule applies: if a geometry section ofshapes has one or many NURBSTO-Splines, then the total section is exported as Polyline.

Background pages:If a foreground page has a cross reference to a background page, then this is nowexported with it likewise.

Pictures/Images:Pictures or images contained in the Visio - Document are now also exported alongwith. For that these are converted to images in the Portable-Network-Grafik (.PNG) Format andpositioned in the AutoCAD-drawing as reference. The converted images are created in thesame directory as exported DWG.

Visio-Layer:Now Visio-Layer are transfered to Autocad. For all layers existing in Visio, a layer with thesame name is created in Autocad. Visibility, plotting ability, locking status, layer colorsand the flag “Colour of layer“ are transferred as Layer Attribute. All Visio-Objects, whichare assigned in Visio to a Layer, are assigned in AutoCAD correspondingly.

If an object is assigned in Visio to many layers, then it is assigned in AutoCAD to the firstassigned Layer in Visio, as AutoCAD allows a distinct link. Unassigned objects areassigned in AutoCAD to the Layer "0". If the flag “colors of layer” for a Visio-Layer is ticked, then all Shape - Entities in AutoCADColor attribute "From Layer", instead you get the corresponding colour values (Colourindex and RGB-value).

DWG Exporter: Analysis of line type and sample link over thevisiopropertymapping.cfg

The mapping for line styles and sample/hatching programmed definitely till now was soconverted in such a way that the mapping for this now also is read from the filevisiopropertymapping.cfg. Additionally, the converter is extended in such a way that noweven in Visio, the USER-defined Line styles and hatchings / sample are considered if aMapping for that is inserted in the "visiopropertymapping.cfg".The Line type map table would be extended. Near the actual allocation of Autocad nameson the VisioIndexNumber, the Autocad scaling factor is still specified. If the scaling factoris not specified, then the default factor 1.0 is used. Thus, the actual mapping for a linetype now appears as follows:

For the Mapping of hatching/samples the pattern map table is inserted again. Here theassigning is done as follows: Visio-PatternNo / Acad-PatternName /Acad-Pattern-angle/Acad-Patter-Scale. Thus the PatternMapping appears as follows:

ANSI37Value @24$ANSI37%0.0%0.5

Illumination of objects

So far In case of illuminating an object, it was zoomed on the geometry of the objectitself. For that the possibly available texts of the object e.g. sequence number, nominalwidths. etc. were not considered and were not visible. Now on illuminating, the objecttexts considered with it, i.e. only the geometry of the object is not illuminated but alsothe tagging texts along with it.

During illumination of objects, now even the object designation is shownalongwith

If an object is illuminated in Visio, then even the graphic of the object was shown so far.The display thereby is full frame, so the object texts (Tagging-Texts) were not visible. This function is now modified in such a way that now both the graphic as well as objecttexts are displayed.

Define the font and font size for new symbol

The Dialog box "New Symbol" is expanded to the Group box "font and font size" (seebelow). In case of accessing the dialog box, the values lodged in the shapesheet for thefont and font size of the selected shapes are transfered and displayed in both theselection fields. The desired settings for the new symbol to be designed can be fixed here at the selectionfield for font type and font size. If the Dialog box is closed with OK, then the currently set values for font type and size inthe ShapeSheet of the new symbol are rewritten.

Improvements in case of creation of symbols

So far, the coordinates of the connection points could not be edited. These can now becorrected, e.g. to correct the uncertainties in the graphical determination of connectionpoints. The font height for the symbols was so far determined on the basic size 6Pt. Now the textheight provided by the user is transfered alongwith. Likewise, now the column texts for the “connection type“ and the "angle“ are languagedependent – displayed either in German or in English.

Creation of new symbols: Additional creation of the connection points

The coordinates connection points which can be transfered from the graphic can now beadditionally eidted and corrected. Besides, the column headings of the list for connectiontype and connection angle are language dependent, i.e. they now appear in German andEnglish, depending on the installed version.

DWG Exporter: Exported DWG's are exported in the export directory in adirectory structure

So far, all exported DWG's were directly stored in the CADSION.INI determined exportdirectory. From the Release all the DWG's will now be stored in a directory structure(designed similar to the PDF-Export.) inside the export folder.

Extension of the context menus of designation objects with thecommand „Edit objects“

The context menus of CADISON designation objects are now placed on the drawing pageautomatically to supply the command “edit object”. Thus the object editor can now bedirectly accessed with the context menu of the designations that are assigned to theobject.

Extension of the symbol editor for creation of text masks

With the symbol editor, any text masks can now also be created. For that, the dialog boxis extended on a Checkbox "create Text masks". If this is checked, then no selection fromthe object class list is possible any more. With the "OK"-button, the text masks for theset object class and the object properties selected for this are generated.

Object classes filter for the symbol editor

For the selection of object classes, the symbol editor now also works with the CADISON –Object classes filter. Here, the meaningful and permissible object classes can be set forcreation of symbols. The object classes filter dialog is accessed in the Project-Engineer under"Extras->Settings->Set Object filter". For the Visio-Symbol editor,"SymbolEditor_VISIO_PHIEPID" must be selected as context.

DWG Visio Exporter Licensing

No license is required for Visio DWGF Exporter from now on.

Extension of the configured labeling

The dialog for the configured labeling was changed. Besides the possibility to configure"free texts“ now even optional separators (as free text) or no separator between theproperties is set. The last entered free text is saved for further use depending on the user and for renewedaccess of the dialog automatically transferred in the free text input box.

Revision tables and designation blocks

Now a flexible operation of the revision lines and labeling fields is possible. - Revision lines can now be positiioned flexibly. The positioning of the revision lines aswell as the names of the used revision lines is now put in the labeling field. For thefollowing specified features, new labeling fields and revision lines shapes as per thedocumentation must be applied. - The count of the displayed revision lines is applied in the labeling field and can bechanged in the dialog “Revision table“. Thus it is possible to determine the count of thedisplayed lines in the revision table. - The Revision table is reorganized as per the exchange of the drawing frameworkautomatically and if necessary positioned again. - Revision lines are protected by default against modifications and deletion. - So as to assure that shapes created by the user for the drawing heads, frameworks and

revision tables for further installations are not overwritten, these are reorganized asfollows: \CADISON\Template\Borders\CadisonBorders.vss\CADISON\Template\Borders\UserBorders.vss\CADISON\Template\Titles\CadisonTitles.vss\CADISON\Template\Titles\UserTitles.vss\CADISON\Template\Titles\CadisonRevisionBlocks.vss\CADISON\Template\Titles\UserRevisionBlocks.vssThe User-Stencils "UserBorder.vss", "UserTitles.vss" and "UserRevisionBlocks.vss" aretherefore not installed along.

Bugfixes

Empty format groups are not allowed to be editted any more

If all formats (stencils) are deleted from a group of formats, then one gets an emptyformat group. After starting the PID – designer again, editing is not allowed neither couldthese be correctly deleted. These errors would be corrected, now empty format groupscan be edited further correctly.

Monitoring of group functions and other critical Visio-commands

Some Visio commands can be used on CADISON-Shapes and the connection between thegraphical object in Visio and the database cancelled. For this reason, now on, thefollowing commands are monitored: From the Group range:Group, convert in group, insert into group From the processes range: Total quantity, combine, to break down in individual quantites, build intersecting sets, subtract, join, cut. All these commands work with the shape selection list. Once a CADISON shape iscontained in the shape selection, a note is displayed that the connection between graphicand DB can be lost and it is queried, if the process should be broken.

Deactivation of the glue point of logical connections, drawing bordersand headers

The shapes of logical connections, drawing borders and headers were so far alwaysautomatically considered in case of automatic gluing in Visio. This lead to completelyunexpected results in some cases, e.g. while placing pipelines. As all these objects areorganized in clear layers, now while placing an object of the above mentioned objectclasses, the gluing attribute is switched for the assigned layers. Now, on the shapes oflogical plants, drawing borders and headers, no other objects, e.g. pipelines can beglued.

Format groups from different paths

For the defined format groups only the file name of the format (stencils) was saved in theCADISONUSERNAME_VisioStencilSettings.cfg so far. Therefore, it was possible toconsider only the stencils from the default directory so far. Now even stencils from any directories, e.g. from a user-directory can be used. It mustbe kept in mind that in a format group only stencils from one directory are permissible.

Defective text positioning in case of Visio DWG Exporter

CADISON R11.0 Release Notes

For DWG-Export, so far the object texts in the following combinations in case of exportwere not always correctly positioned:- The Visio - Object was mirorred or flipped.- The Visio - Object was copied and finally rotated. - The Text was not positioned centrally, but at the left or right.

Stencil settings are lost during drawing exchange

When many drawings were opened at the same time and then were changed in theStencil-settings, then the stencils were lost in all inactive drawings and had to bereopened by the user for these drawings. Even so problems for changing stencil settings were corrected when opened drawingswere minimized.

Pasting on guide is always activated again

While opening and activating a Visio-drawing now, still even following pastinginformation is activated: Pasting on: * Shape-Geometry * Connection pointsAll further pasting types (guides, size changing control points, Shape-angular points) arenot activated. These can be temporarily patched in if required.

Rotated text in original position turned after adjusting

For this characteristic the fact that while changing (turning, adjusting...) of objectgraphics, the texts were turned basically in the reading direction. This characteristic, turning of tagging texts in a reading direction correspondingly can be switched over theproperty "Prop.AutoTagAngle = 0" in the drawing sheet. This characteristic was now so adapted that the rotation of the object text in readingdirection while adjusting objects is basically disabled.

Wrong results in Consistency Check

When errors were found while using the function Consistency Check, the results wereshown wrong sometimes.

New cable tray Bend object

In earlier versions of Cadison, it was not possible to route cable tray from horizontalplane to vertical plane due to lack of appropriate cable tray object to represent this typeof Bend(elbow). In Cadison R11, object "Cable tray Bend" is introduced for this purpose.Apart from different graphical representation, other functional behavior of this object willbe similar to existing Cable tray(elbow) object.

Drawing Templates

The following templates for Circuit Diagrams were changed:..\CADISON\Template\Titles\PHI-TITL.DWG..\CADISON\Template\Titles\PHI-CONTENT.DWG

Editing the table of content

To fill the template "Table of Content", a new symbol was added in object class"Textmask/Designation". By using the function "Designate object with block" it is nowpossible to fill the template with values...\CADISON\Library\<language>\Common\PHI-TEXT\TEXT33.DEF(DWG,SLD)

Enhancements Security Concept

Whenever the CADISON administration right is changed in CADISON user managementsystem, the related Windows user is moved now to the correct Windows user groupautomatically. And also when linking CADISON users with Windows users the related Windows user isnow placed in the correct Windows user group automatically.

Bugfixes

Add Windows users to usermanagement

When user selects several users that are already existing in the CADISONusermanagement and try to transfer them, a warning pops up.If user negate the warning for one user and have confirmed it for other users before, thenthe other users remain in the Windows user listbox, though they have already beentransfered to the listbox with the linked users.

MATPIPE

New Functions

Updating of data sheets of the replicated objects

For the execution of the command “transfer replicates again“, the corresponding datasheets of the replicated objects are updated and created again from this version.

Creating and updating symbolic graphic entries while copying/Replicating

If an object from the Tree is copied or replicated in another catalog in MATPIPE, so far thereference to potentially inserted graphic entries was copied along indeed, however notthe symbolic graphic entries from the "Library\Matpipe" directory. The files belonging to itmust be copied or updated by the user. From this version this data is automaticallycopied and updated.

Allocation of user groups in the Matpipe-user administration

Only CADISON users could process in the Matpipe-user administration. From this Version, even the CADISON-user groups are available. With this, catalogs for user groups can beactivated and all CADISON-users who are included in the CADISON-user group get accessto the corresponding catalogs.

LISTFROMFILE-support in Matpipe

From this Version LISTFROMFILE-properties can also be edited in Matpipe. If aLISTFROMFILE-property should be edited in a Matpipe-Table (by double clicking or bypressing F2), a new window appears (corresponding to the window from CADISON), inwhich the furnished values are displayed. An entry can be selected there and this is thentransferred in Matpipe.

The configuration files (*.lff-files), which comprise of the possible contents for aLISTFROMFILE-property must be stored in the following directory:\CADISON\Catalog\ListFromFile

The file names of the LFF-files are composed exactly in the same manner as in CADISON.It is possible to define an LFF file for a property corresponding to the object class, in thesame way, ,it is also possible to deposit the definition not corresponding to the objectclass.

File name of an LFF-file, depending on object class:<PropertyName>_<Objectclass>.lff

File name of an LFF-file, not depending on object class: <PropertyName>.lff

Note:If a LISTFROMFILE-Property is edited in the detail table, other properties in the detailtable can thus be be filled. However, a LISTFROMFILE-Property in the main table is edited, from there onlyproperties can be filled from the main table. Currently not even the “translate“ of selection values is supported. If in case of possibleproperty values are inserted in the LFF-file elements of selection lists, these are displayedonly with their internal designations in the selection dialog, not with “translated“ values

(e.g. for selection property for JOINTYPE of Text "W" instead of “white” is displayed).

Quick-Search for Catalog Objects

A new quick search for objects in catalogs was added in this version. By entering valuesof properties, the user will receive results while typing (similar to Google). This functionis available in MATPIPE and in Selector. It is only active, when the service "Catalog IndexEngine" is installed on the CADISON server and activated. As default, e.g. during a clientinstallation, the service is not part of the installation, but can selected if necessary. To install the service, select "CADISON Server Support > Catalog Index Server" duringSetup. After the installation, open the cadison.ini and - if needed - modify the path to thecatalog folder and the amount of indexed attributes:

[CATALOG_QUICKSEARCH]CATALOGPATH=D:\CADISON\CatalogPROPERTIES=P_name;TEXT_SHORT;MANUFACT;TYPE

CATALOGPATH: automatically the path to the local domain folder for catalogs is enteredhere.PROPERTIES: The attributes to be indexed. As default, only P_name is active here. Themore properties are listed, the more performance is needed to build and update thecatalog index. We recommend not to use more then 5 attributes.

Filtering Object Classes

All available object classes where shown in dialogs like object-search or object-table inMATPIPE. From R11 on, it can be defined which classes shall be displayed by using afilter. This filter can be accessed through menu "Extras > Settings" in Engineer.

New keyword "impstring" for formulas

To convert a numeric value in MATPIPE into text, the keyword "string" exists. Used in aformula, this does not always create a metric representation of the numeric value. To useimperial length units in an imperial catalog, the new keyword "impstring" can be used.Syntax:

impstring(<property name>,'<display format>','<unit>')

Display format needs to comply with imperial formats, e.g. "A8" like it is written inarchitectural way for a precision of 1/8 inch. The unit has to be either "inch" or "feet".Example for the conversion of a numeric value for diameter into imperial text:

impstring(DIAMETER_O,'A8','inch')

Functional Changes

Changes in the window "Properties" of the object table

The dialog for editing the properties of the object table was revised in Release 11.0.0.The modifications of the object properities in the main dialog box is saved on its own andin all sub-dialog boxes, and only then in the data bank, if the dialog box is closed byclicking the “ok” button. If the dialog box is closed by canceling, the changes are lost.

Property value "---" for property that is not available through optional

link

If a property uses a form which consists of a property of an optional sub-object (optionallink) and the optional link was not selected, Matpipe showed the text “---” for theproperty that is not available. From this version, for this property that is not available, no text is created any more.

Replicate the object classes "PHI-PSPC"

So as to avoid follow up problems for replica functions in MATPIPE, from this version thereplication of object classes “PHI-PSPC” and “PHI-ESPC” was disabled.

Create & Update symbolic graphic entries while copy/replicateWhen in MATPIPE an object was copied or replicated from the tree into another catalog, the link to the symbolic representation from "Library > MATPIPE" was copied, but not thegraphic files themselves. From now on, this happens automatically.

Memo-Editor in Matpipe

MATPIPE uses the same editor for MEMO texts as CADISON, but without connection to theCADISON dictionary.

Bugfixes

Object designation is lost after closing the properties window

The obejct designation was lost in the MATPIPE structure view so far, when the propertieswindow of an already copied and replaced object opened and then the window was leftwith “close” button or by clicking cross. Only when the catalog was opened again, the object designation was correctly displayed. The error is corrected in the current version.

Missing Object Symbol in the configuration tab

When the user creates a new configuration in MATPIPE and then changes to the tabconfiguration, so far the symbol for the new object in the MATPIPE Tree was missing andwas displayed incorrectly. In the current version, the error has been corrected.

Copying of objects with data sheet in another catalog

If an object is copied, displaced or linked in Matpipe from the Tree in another catalog, thereference is copied along to a potentially entered data sheet, however not the actual datasheet. From this Version, the data sheet belonging to it is also copied with the object.

Missing text in the dialog box "tool bars"

Missing text and text that is not translated in the dialog box "tool bars" is displayedcorrectly in the current MATPIPE Version.

Catalog change for excentric reducers

The display of excentric reducers on isometric drawings could be wrong. The formula forproperty "Parallel misalignment DY" was changed in the following catalogs:ITF_CHEMPIPING
