Going Home For J4?

What are Cohort Convos?

This Friday-Sunday will be SCE’s first open weekend and students will be able to go home and celebrate the holiday with their family. On Friday, from 11 am to 3 pm, the staff will also be having a barbeque in the backyard of Tripp for the students. Food will be provided and it will be free! Now, who doesn’t love free food! Even though it is an open weekend, remember that work for Larry’s class will still be on schedule so study hard and have fun!

So what are cohort conversations? I guess you can call them workshops in a way? But yeah, you get the idea. Starting JULY 9th (Next Wednesday from 3:30-4:30pm), there will be five cohort conversations. They are Social Sciences and Humanities, Undecided, STEM, Pre-Professional, and Pre-Business. The locations for these conversations have not been set yet, so keep an eye for those. If you have not filled out a half

sheet paper out indicating which cohort conversation you would like to attend for the next week and upcoming three weeks, contact your nearest housfellow. The cohort conversations are meant to give you an insight on majors on campus and connect you to staff faculty in those areas. You may meet awesome professors or meet current students in those field and it can give you a lot of options in the future. See you next Wednesday!

What do you want the students to know?I want the students to achieve knowledge; to know that your outcome is dependent upon your input. If you work hard, it really will show.
