IFMSA reform
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKsp8G4BNv8
The fundamental issue isabout linking, coordinating, collabo-ratingandintegratingtheon-goingef-fortsofimprovementinIFMSA(topicssuchasGAs/RMs,EthicalGuidelines,Institutional Strengthening, as wellexploringpotentialafewotheronesrelatedtoGAprogramming,StrategicPlanning, etc). The aim is not to be radical, but to address the needs of IFM-SA based on an analysis from a core groupinacollaborativemanner.
what is reform?

why? IFMSAhasgrownsobigandhasstatedtobe-comeinefficient.ReformwouldallowIFMSAtooper-atemoreefficientlyandgrowfurther.
Reformisnecessary:- to improve impact of the federation worldwide,therebyeasilyjustifyingtheexistencethefederation-toimprovefinancialsustainabilityofGAs(andRMs)-toimproveefficiencyoftheorganization-toensurethefederationissustainable-toensureeffectiveandadequategovernancestruc-tures, including access to profession not medicine(ie.law,accountingetc.)
Reform could take a “forward looking ap-proach to our career inmedicine and improve ouracademicprofessionalprospectsaccordingly.”
Great momentum at the moment with theTFsandSWGsat themoment. IFMSAneedstousethisenergyandexpertisethatisbeingdevelopedandcomingfromtheentirefederationtocatalyzechangefortheorganization.
