President's Message

Ho, ho, ho Greetings from your President for the holiday season!

Thanksgiving in Florida was a success and now we are on to Christmas and New Year's Rallies.

The list is growing of members coming to Christmas and you can still make your reservation in St. Augustine by calling 904-824-9840.

Make sure you ask for BARBARA when making your reservation. Also bring a $10.00

exchange gift for a swap.

We will tour St. Augustine, see the Christmas lights and of course, have dinner on Christ-mas. There is also the Flea Market to explore and add to your treasures.

New Years had to be changed. Sean from Daytona called this week and cancelled our res-ervation. We are now going to Red Oaks RV Resort in Bushnell, (info inside newsletter) and about 25 members have signed up for that rally. You must call Jeannine about it.

The vote is in on the change about towables. The total votes were 9,801-in favor, 6,820-opposed 2,981 The paperwork must be finished before we can accept any member, but change is coming and hopefully we will have new members in the near future.

Lots of rallies this year so sign up and join us both in the East and the West.

Hope the rest of the year is a lot of fun for all of you. As for me, I will love seeing you all again.

Anyone already signed up with Jeannine Fontaine (706 200 0876) for the New Year's event at International RV Park and Campground, 3175 W International Speedway Blvd, Day-tona Beach, FL 32124 -

Sean from the RV Park notified us yesterday that International RV Park is full and he will not accommodate us. So, the party has been moved to Red Oaks RV Park in Bushnell.

It is a lovely park and we will all receive pull thru sites. The party will go on! Red Oaks has a band for New Year’s! So we can party hearty.

Dates: Dec 29, 2017 thru Jan 2, 2018

Good news!! The rate will only be $28.00 per nite - total $112.00. There will be a band in the Tortoise Bldg on New Years eve - we do have to bring our own booze and snacks but if everyone brings their own drinks and a snack to share it will be fine. I will provide cham-pagne at midnight for everyone from our rally fee. The rally fee will still be $25.00 and I will do my best to include 2 breakfasts Dec 30 and 31 (fast food) and a pizza party on Dec 29 & New Years day meal described below and champagne on New Years eve.

We will have our own building for coffee in am and happy hour and games if we choose. We will have our traditional New Years day meal of ham, sweet potatoes, greens, black eyed peas, cornbread, etc. in our building.

You must call Red Oaks at 352 793 7117 and ask for Tehesha - tell her you are with Singles Int'l and wish to make your reservation - she is holding all our sites together near our building. You will be charged when you arrive. Call asap as it wasn't easy to get over 20 spots for New Years weekend and we don't want to lose them.

If you want to attend the New Years day meal and are not staying at Red Oaks just let me know

SI THANKSGIVING Campout in Eustis Fl: The Thanksgiving campout had 9 participants, John McPherson, Carol Klenow, Omra Domit, Martha Werre, Sue Balmert, Ethel Sawyer, Dale Koepka, Carla Manfredi, Carolyn Scheid and 2 guests Calvin Metts and Sonny. Southern Palms campground invited us to their delicious Thanksgiving Feast-which we all enjoyed. Friday evening we attended the Light up Eustis Christmas festivities and we got to do the same Saturday with the Light up Mt Dora ceremonies which I believe got us all in the Holiday spirit. It was a great way to start the season.

Breakfast casserole in the crock pot! Cooks while you sleep!

.* Ingredients:

1 bag 26 oz. frozen hash browns 1 16 oz roll sausage, maple, sage or regular

12 eggs salt and pepper

1 cup milk

1 tablespoon ground mustard 16 oz bag shredded cheddar cheese

Directions: 1. Spray crock pot and evenly spread hash browns at the bottom. 2. Crack 12 eggs in a large bowl. 3. Mix well (and slowly) using a whisk. 4. Add the milk. 5. Go ahead and sprinkle in the ground mustard. This might sound like a weird ingredient, but I've come to love (and use) this in most of my recipes. 6. Add plenty of salt.... ...and lots of fresh pepper. Mix well and set aside. 7. Cook the sausage on high heat, drain and set aside. 8. Add sausage on top of hash browns. 9. Is this enough cheese? Maybe? Probably. Throw the whole big bag in there. 10. Mix it up well. Or good, depending on where you're from. 11. Pour the egg mixture over everything in the crock pot. Using a wood spoon, even everything out so it's spread evenly. 12. Turn the crock pot on low for 6-8 hours. Some fun variations of this recipe. Before cooking (during prep) you can add: chunks of sourdough bread diced chiles salsa diced green onions
