Join members of Toronto's Mas' Camps to learn about the techniques they have developed for their Caribbean Carnival costumes. On display will be the winner of the Ontario Science Centre's 2014 Innovation in Mas' Award, "Takerstodon D'Invader", created by Precious Jewels, portrayed by Sherwin Modeste, designed and built by Whitfield Belasco, Bandleader, Concept Costume Creators. From oil drums to a soul vibe, experience the remarkable musical invention of the steel pan featuring The Toronto All Stars Steel Orchestra under the direction of Salmon Cupid, inventor of the e-pan. Hear about innovative, green forms of transportation by exploring the ins and outs of how a Segway works as demonstrated by one of our experts. The individual members of the Kid Mitchell Band were brought together as a result of a search by the iconic Canadian rocker to find youngsters to cover one of his songs.
