SonaOne, born Mikael Adam Lozach, is a critically acclaimed rapper, producer, and songwriter. The FrenchMalay natural born artist began exercising his creativity as a graffiti artist in his teenage years, which is the skill that earned him a place in Kartel as an intern. He designed for the label until 2010 when his inspiration Joe Flizzow realized his musical potential, adding him to the label’s roster. He writes, raps, produces, composes, and arranges all of his own music, in addition to contributing to others’. His breakout moment was his feature on hit single Who Do It Better alongside Altimet and Joe Flizzow in 2011. The track created major buzz for SonaOne and solidified his reputation in the music industry. Again in 2013, SonaOne collaborated with Altimet and Joe Flizzow for Havoc, which took radio airwaves by storm and has 3.6 million YouTube views to date. In the past two years, SonaOne has become a household name thanks to his backtoback prestigious award show victories. He won “Song of the Year” with No More at the AIM21, breaking the show’s record as the first English language and hiphop song to ever take the title. Two months later, Joe Flizzow’s Apa Khabar, produced by and featuring SonaOne, took the top prize at the AGL29. In early 2015, SonaOne hosted the second season of Joe Flizzow’s travel series, “HipHoppin’ Asia: The Saga Continues.” Currently, he is promoting his single Hakaleh, which embodies his bicultural background, writing and producing new music under Kartel, and preparing for his performance at SoulFest Asia in October
