Legion of Mary News

Please join the Legion of Mary every Monday evening in October for a candlelight rosary procession around the grounds of St. Andrew. We will meet outside the main church doors at 7:00 pm, and we will be praying for various intentions including

your own. A box will be available during the month of September in the vestibule for you to place your intentions that you would like us to pray for. This is the last weekend to place your prayer intentions in the box. In case of inclement weather, we will pray inside of the Church. October is the Month of the Holy Rosary. Please come join us in praying a rosary to our beautiful Mother Mary.

AN INVITATION TO JOIN US!

We, members of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, invite you to join us at St. Andrew in service to our friends, the poor. You have an opportunity to learn more about what we will be doing in the near future. We have several members who have served for 11 years and who are having problems serving due to age related difficulties. It is time for younger persons to step up and participate. NOW IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO HELP. Next weekend, October 6 & 7, complete an “I am Interested” form available from our members in the rear of the church after Mass. You will be inspired by the sharing of friendship, spirituality, and service.

“BABY BOTTLES FOR LIFE”

OCTOBER 6TH AND 7TH In October St. Andrew the Apostle will conduct its Baby Bottles for Life campaign to benefit, support and educate pregnant women facing crisis or unintended pregnancies. The funds collected through the Bottles for Life campaign support the programs and services of the Waterleaf Medical Clinic and Education and Resource Center located in Aurora. Waterleaf provides practical help; pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, STD testing and treatment as well as continuing education and support for women in our community who would otherwise be at risk for choosing abortion. Last year with the support of churches like St. Andrew the Apostle, Waterleaf served 846 clients, performed 540 pregnancy tests, 404 ultrasounds and rescued 83 babies. Baby bottles will be distributed to parishioners after the 4:00 PM Mass on September 29th and after all Masses on September 30th to take home and fill with spare change, cash, or a check. Bottles can be returned the weekends of October 6th and 7th, 13th and 14th, and 20th and 21st. There will be a basket in the vestibule of Church where you can leave them. Please pick up a baby bottle after Mass and fill it with your heartfelt financial donation. Please make checks payable to Waterleaf. Your support is greatly appreciated. For more information call:

WATERLEAF BABY BOTTLES FOR LIFE

We wrześniu parafia św.

Bog zaplac ! ‘ ‘

Modlitwa za księdza Panie Jezu, Ty kazałeś swoim Apostołom, by na całym świecie głosili Twoją Ewangelię, by rozgrzeszali i podczas każdej Mszy św., aż do Twojego przyjścia, głosili Twoją śmierć i zmartwychwstanie. Niech On będzie kapłanem według Twego Serca. Niech będzie mądry i święty. przytul Go z miłością jak Jana do swego serca, a my modlitwą będziemy podtrzymywać Jego ręce.

MagnifiKid! Booklets are BACK!

Each Sunday, until the end of May, you will find the MagnifiKid! Booklets in the back of the church. This is a service provided by the Faith Formation office to assist you in engaging more fully in the Mass. The Mass is the ‘source and summit’ of our faith and therefore we should be engaging our heads and HEARTS into it fully.

The MagnifiKids are for the entire parish family to make use of—the young and the young at heart. Please use this resource! Kids feel free to take them home to continue learning and growing in the lessons of the Mass. BE BLESSED!

Come join with us in prayer for the salvation of mankind.

Most people take things like underwear for granted.

At Catholic Charities, we have found that low-income families and seniors living on poverty-level incomes do not spend money on underwear and they

desperately need it.

Catholic Charities is proud to announce that the 16th Annual Undy Sunday will be held on October 20 and 21, 2018. St. Andrew will be collecting NEW: • diapers and pull-ups • wipes • long underwear (all sizes) • Socks and underwear in all size (toddler through

adult for males and females) • Men’s undershirts for low-income households. Collection will be held in the hallway outside the Church on Saturday and Sunday, October 20 & 21, after all Masses. Please place your donations in the designated boxes. Thank you for your support!

BAPTISM OF CHILDREN We joyfully celebrate the Baptism of children on the third Sunday of the month at 1:30 p.m. The requirements are: to be registered in the parish and have an active participation in our parish community for at least 3 months. Register at the parish office for the Baptismal prep class, which is held on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m., in the school hall. It is important to notify the parish office with the date that you will be attending the class.

FIRST COMMUNION AND CONFIRMATION

Please see page 9 in the bulletin for Faith Formation information regarding preparation for these important sacraments.

MARRIAGE REQUIREMENTS

Diocese requirements include a formal engagement preparation period of at least six months before the date of the weddings and attendance in a marriage preparation program. St. Andrew requires either the bridge, groom, or parents of either to be registered as parishioners for at least three months before contacting us to set a date. There are a number of additional requirements. Please contact the Parish Office for additional information.

FUNERALS

Arrangements for a funeral are usually made through the Funeral Director at a funeral home of your choice.

PASTORAL CARE OF THE SICK

Hospitals do not inform churches when parishioners are patients. You should ask an immediate family member to contact the Parish Office to request a visit from a priest when sickness occurs or death is imminent. Please contact Barb Sanders to arrange for Communion to be brought to the sick at home, to a hospital, or nursing home.

I would like to have my house blessed.

Please contact me to make arrangements.
