TRANSCRIPT
Dear Friends,
Summer vacation time is now upon us. The kids are home
from school and the blessings of sunshine and fun are abun-
dant this time of year. Please remember to keep God at the
center of your lives in this special time of year. Worship
weekly as a family and recognize that everyday—sunshine
and all—are gifts from God.
Father’s Day Novena envelopes are located on the table in
front of the Sacred Heart altar.
Congratulations to Father Andrew Windschitl who was or-
dained on Friday June 5th. Please keep him in your prayers.
He will start here at St. Anthony in July.
The Feast of Corpus Christi (Latin for Body of Christ) was
not instituted within the Church until the 14th century AD.
The principal founder of the Feast of the Body was an Au-
gustinian nun, Saint Juliana of Mont Cornillion, in Belgium.
Saint Juliana looked upon the Holy Eucharist with great rev-
erence, and desired to have a feast within the Church devoted
specifically to its honor.
Remember, the feast of St. Anthony is June 13th. Happy
feast day.
Have a great week. Blessings,

Congratulations to the Class of
1945 celebrating 70 years and
the Class of 1955 celebrating
60 years!
To the Parish of St. Anthony,
My name is Isaac Hillaker. I am a college student living and studying here
in Des Moines, as well as a parishioner at the Basilica of St. John. I will be
working with the Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) over the
summer in Vladivostok, Russia. I will be working alongside fellow students, as
well as sisters and priest in feeding fifty plus children a day and taking care of
the elderly in hospice care. After a couple of weeks we will venture north to
the town of Lesozavodsk to put on a summer camp or the children, to teach
them the catechism through prayer and play.
I have $1,000 left to raise by the 20th of June, and am in great need to
financial support. Any donation, no matter how large or small, will not go un-
noticed or unappreciated. If you are unable to donate, I ask that you keep the
mission and myself in your prayers, that we truly follow God’s will on this mis-
sion. Please contact me if you have any questions. My phone numbers are:
