“Thus should one regard us: as servants of Christ and
stewards of the mysteries of God. Now it is of course
required of stewards that they be found trustworthy.”
1 Corinthians 4:1-2
A Christian steward is a person who loves both God and
neighbor. A steward shares his or her gifts from God in
justice and love of others.

Can any of you by worrying add a single moment to
your life-span? Matthew 6:27
Jesus was obviously not thinking about exercise, a careful
diet and regular checkups with your primary care physician
as means to improve one’s longevity. Careful planning and
thoughtful action are not to be confused with worry. The
kind of obsessive thinking that troubles many of us—maybe
all of us at some time or other—worrying isn’t a rational
calculation. We don’t do it because we think it does some
good. It feels like a reflex, and has been described as “a
down payment on problems that may never happen.” Or
even if some catastrophe will happen—like one’s own
death—worrying controls nothing. But it sure can make
you miserable.
This, I think, is why Jesus brings it up. Needless,
pointless, useless worry does us no good. Meanwhile it
diminishes our enjoyment of simple things like sparrows
and flowers and green grass. Jesus is inviting us to trust
and let go. Let’s give it a try today.

Dear God,
We are fast approaching a time for reflection and renewal. All our actions will lead us to the
promise of Easter. Please guide us in our daily routines so that we might find you in the
ordinary. Gift us with healing self-reflections so that we may become the people you would like
for us to be. Bless us with your graces in our darkest hours when our minds are filled with
indecisions, regrets, doubts and fear. Teach us humility so that we may continue in the paths
of your Son. We ask this of you in the name of Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

Once again, our community will be one of many cities from coast to coast joining together for the 40 Days for Life
campaign - March 1 – April 9, 2017. 40 Days for Life is a prayerful effort designed to raise awareness, save lives, bring
healing, and lead our nation to repentance and healing through three pillars of Christian belief.
1). 40 days of Ongoing Prayer Vigil 2). 40 days of Fasting 3). 40 days of Public Witness
We pray that hearts of mothers will change, and that their children will be spared from the tragedy of abortion. Also, we
pray for post-abortive mothers to seek forgiveness and help through Project Rachel, a post-abortion ministry of the
Archdiocese of Louisville.
Over 300 cities are participating! The fruits of this effort are incredible with over 12,000 babies and their moms
spared from the tragedy of abortion including over 30 that were saved last year here in Louisville!
Over the years we have received comments from many parishioners who had a very powerful spiritual experience
and a better awareness of the sanctity of life after they spent an hour in prayer at the abortion site. In 2016 over 3,000
mothers entered the local abortion facility, so your prayers and public witness are greatly needed to promote a culture of
life. To sign up go to https://40daysforlife.com/local-campaigns/louisville/ or call 502-475-5403.
Psalm 139:13 For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am
fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
Our 1st Fish Fry will be
held this Friday, March 3,
from 4:30 till 7:30 p.m.
Cancer is scary, but at Flaget Memorial Hospital, we never give up hope. And neither do our patients. So join us
and hear amazing stories from some of our cancer survivors and dedicated staff, and learn how you can be part of
Project Hope. You’re invited to the “Stories of Hope” event at Flaget Memorial Hospital on Thursday,
March 9, from 5:00—6:00 p.m. to learn something about Flaget Memorial Hospital that you don’t already know
and hear stories of hope from our community at the next “Stories of Hope” event. This free event includes a tour,
a special guest speaker, food and more. RSVP: [email protected] or 502.993.8896
2017 Black and Indian Missions Collection
Next weekend, we’ll take up the annual Black and Indian
Mission Collection. This collection exists to help diocesan
communities bui8ld the Church and preach the Gospel of Jesus
among the African American, Native American, and Alaska
Native people of God. Your donations help fund parish-based
catechetical programs, support teacher and catechists
professional development, encourage vocations to the
priesthood and religious life, and create diocesan structures,
such as our own archdiocesan Office of Multicultural Ministry,
that support ministry and evangelization in these diverse
cultural communities. Please help if you can.
