ST. MARTINS TEA & COFFEE MERCHANTS

Taking your support of your local creative community to the next level.

Hello, I’m Edward. I work for Proximity London, part of the BBDO network (the most awarded advertising network in the world).

ABOUT ME

WHY I WANT TO GET INVOLVED WITH ST. MARTINS

I like working with independent businesses – there is so much more energy and fresh thinking.

Also, I feel that coffee chains are homogenising both coffee culture and the high-street. I want to support indie coffee shops to prevent this.

HOW I CAME TO THINK ABOUT ST. MARTINS

One day, I stumbled into your coffee shop – I instantly fell in love

with the place.

MY IDEA FOR ST. MARTINS

YOU CURRENTLY SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL CREATIVE COMMUNITY….

From looking at both your coffee shop and your activity online, its clear that you’re very interested in supporting your local creative community.

In particular, I noticed that you currently promote local creatives’ work on your walls.

My idea is to make a very small change that will take this to a whole new level.

How about putting QR codes underneath the creatives’ work that would link the customer to their website?

Customers could scan these codes with their smartphone in-store to learn more about the artist who produced the work.

BUT HOW ABOUT WE TAKE IT FURTHER?.....

THE IMPLICATIONS FOR THE CUSTOMER AND THE ARTIST

Enabling customers to learn more about the artist there-and-then allows them to pursue their interest in the work easily without investment.

It also enables the artist to show more of his/her work in the moment. It allows for a much fuller understanding of the artists work in the local community.

THE IMPLICATIONS FOR ST. MARTINS

In turn, for St. Martins it creates a new and unique in-store experience.

Its fun, its interactive, and it will add a whole new dimension of activity and engagement for your customers in your coffee shop.

If you roll this out you could be the first coffee shop in the country to do this - seriously differentiating you from your local competitors

IMPLEMENTATION

The great thing about this idea is that it is really low-investment – its easy to do, not time consuming, and virtually costs nothing.

Generating the QR codes is free and very simple (I’ll go into details of how to do this is you like the idea).

THANK YOU

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
